Expertly hand-crafted bespoke rock thrills. Washing Machine is a live music clubnight based at The Hunter Club Arts Centre in Bury St Edmunds Rock City. In addition to our own nights, we regularly work alongside the Bury St Edmunds Fringe Festival, BurySOUND Music Competition and Toonteen Artist Management Management. On Saturday 13th February 2027, music/art icon KATE JACKSON returns to the Hunter Club Arts Centre in Bury St Edmunds with her new electronic project CORSELETTE. With a new album, ‘Death of a Cul-De-Sac’, due for release in September 2027, Kate will be treating a hometown crowd a career-spanning showcase of new material and classics from The Long Blondes’ back catalogue.

‘Death of a Cul-De-Sac’ was produced by Martin Ware (The Human League / Heaven 17) and is a glittering synth-pop diary of midlife womanhood, filled with sharp wit and hard-won perspective. Sassy and shimmeringly self aware finding beauty, humour and resilience amid the noise of an ever-shifting world.

Calling all East Anglian bands, duos and solo artists: you can now sign up for the BurySOUND Music Competition 2027 via the website at burysound.com

Heats will be held at the Hunter Club Arts Centre in Bury St Edmunds during February and March, with the Grand Final taking place at The Apex on Saturday 10th April. All styles and genres are welcome, deadline for entries is 20th December 2026. Let’s go!!!

Absolutely no words. We didn’t know Patrick Stewart but the impact he had on our lives was immeasurable and we can only imagine the profound loss those who knew and loved him must be feeling. Make it so, beautiful man.

Massive thanks to everyone who braved the elements to come down to the Hunter Club Arts Centre last night for JADED TEETH’s brilliant, sold out headline show! A huge “ta” with a side order order of “yaaaay” for our fabulous support acts OSCAR NOVEMBER, LIGHTZØUT, THE ASTHMATICS and ONO; to sound wizard Alec Jarman and get-in assistant Carlos; to Kate and Isaac for helping on box office; and to all the HCAC crew (George, Lauren, Ciaran and Larry) for keeping us all safe and warm in their wonderful venue.

Washing Machine will be back at the Hunter Club on Saturday 21st November with CHANCE FOR GOOD, THE DETOUR, THE DISAGREEMENT, SAM MILNE & THE TYRANTS and THE JESS DAVEY BAND. 6-11pm, all ages welcome (under-16s with a parent/carer), £5 advance via hunterclub.co.uk
