Thank you for showing this and your kind words. It was put up by Doveside WI and our resident Royal British Legion branch.

Well done to Rolleston Club bowls teams on their presentation night tonight.

The Royal British Legion branch, that meets in our Club every month, has collaborated with Doveside Womens' Institute to create a Remembrance 'weeping window'.

This act of Remembrance has been a long held dream of the Club's Secretary and she is immensely proud of the hard work put in by the WI members. They spent many hours cutting out the red poppy outers and the black centre, then putting in individual cable ties.

Fran and Elspeth from the WI helped the Rolleston on Dove branch of the Royal British Legion put it all together on a very wet and windy day.

We are now in the Poppy Appeal run up to Remembrance Sunday. There are poppies in the Club. Please wear one with pride.

Francis George 'Gud' Featherstone
11/06/1936 - 27/09/2026

🌹 Joy, Alan, Kay, Heidi and their families wish to announce that the Funeral of their dearly beloved Dad, Grandad and Great-Grandad will be held on Monday 2nd November, 11.30am at St Mary's church Rolleston-On-Dove, followed by a private family cremation at Bretby crematorium.
A celebration of his life will be held at Rolleston Club following the service.

As per Georges wishes, we request that all who attend wear black and white to commemorate his love for Derby County and Derby football shirts themselves are also welcome.🌹

Donations in memory of George will support 'Royal British Legion' (Rolleston Branch) and 'Cancer Research UK', these can be placed in the collection box at the service or using the online links via burton mail funeral notices.

The whole family want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has sent their condolences to us all during this difficult time 💔
