Local Beer & Cider - Great Local Produce - Friendly Welcome - Heart of the Community - Freehouse Welcome to the King Alfred Inn at Burrowbridge.

We are situated in the heart of the Somerset Levels on the A361 between Taunton and Glastonbury. We are a good old fashioned Somerset pub that offers traditional pub food using local meats, fish and vegetables. We are a Freehouse and stock a wide range of real ales, lagers, wines, spirits and of course Somerset cider. During the winter warm up in front of our log burner and in the summer enjoy the view across the river from our terrace. We are easy to find and a great base for local attractions such as Glastonbury, Taunton, the River Parrett trail, the Great Crane Project and much more. For any information please contact us on 01823 698379.

Hello you wonderful lot! ❤️

Can you believe it?! This Saturday marks ONE WHOLE YEAR since our very first Karaoke Night at The King Alfred! 🥳🍾

🎤 Karaoke from 8pm
💀 Hosted by the one and only DJ SKELETOR

Whether you’ve been coming to Karaoke Night since the very beginning or you’ve never dared pick up the microphone before, THIS is the night to join us!

Bring your best vocals, bring your worst vocals, bring your mates and come celebrate a whole year of King Alfred Karaoke with us. 🥂🎤

🥩🍷 YES… WE’RE STILL ON FOR STEAK NIGHT TONIGHT! 🍷🥩

And even better news…

Tycjan still hasn’t noticed my post from last night. 😂

So we’re doing well, everyone. Keep quiet. Nobody tag him. Nobody mention the prices. Just act completely normal. 👀🤣

So, before he discovers what I’ve done…

🔥 TWO 10oz SIRLOIN STEAKS + A BOTTLE OF W**E — £49.50

And for the seriously hungry amongst you…

🥩 CÔTE DE BOEUF — £52

🍷 CÔTE DE BOEUF + A BOTTLE OF W**E — £61.50

Now, I know last night I confidently said “DON’T BOTHER BOOKING, JUST TURN UP!”

Well…

Quite a few of you have already booked. 😂

So perhaps, on reflection, it might actually be quite handy if you do book.

📱 WhatsApp us on 07717 717 0037

Tycjan’s in the kitchen. I’m out front.

What could possibly go wrong? 😂🥩🍷

See you all very soon!

Lots of love,
Tycjan, Adam and the team at The King Alfred Inn ❤️🍻

09/10/2026

🌙 I should probably say GOOD MORNING everyone… but technically it’s still good evening because I haven’t actually gone to bed yet! 😂

Anyway… this one might be one for the history books.

Tycjan has actually told me I’m allowed to do a deal on steaks tomorrow night. 🥩

His deal?

TWO 10oz SIRLOIN STEAKS + A BOTTLE OF W**E FOR £55

Lovely.

Except… I’m going to ignore him. 😂

Because £55 sounds far too sensible, and because I find it entertaining winding him up, I’m doing:

🔥 TWO 10oz SIRLOINS + A BOTTLE OF W**E — £49.50 🔥

That’s right. You don’t even have to feel like you’ve spent fifty quid. 😂🍷🥩

And while we’re at it…

I think I’ve got a couple of CÔTE DE BOEUF left in the fridge.

Tycjan’s in the kitchen tomorrow.

I’m in front of house.

He never reads my Facebook posts.

So what he doesn’t know can’t hurt him. 👀😂

🥩 CÔTE DE BOEUF — £52

Or because I do actually need to make enough money to pay for the bloody thing…

🍷 CÔTE DE BOEUF + A BOTTLE OF W**E — £61.50

And do you know what?

DON’T EVEN BOTHER BOOKING.

Just turn up.

Surprise us.

Walk through the door, order a steak, have a bottle of w**e and let’s have a laugh.

This is The King Alfred.

We’re a pub. We’re a family. And tomorrow night…

🥩 IT’S STEAK NIGHT! 🥩

See you tomorrow, you lovely lot ❤️

Lots of love,
Tycjan, Adam and the team at The King Alfred Inn 🍻

Tender slow-braised lamb shoulder with Dijon mustard mash, honey-roasted root vegetables, crispy leeks and rich rosemary gravy.

Now THAT is a specials board! 🤤

Don’t forget to book. It’s always really handy for us to know you’re coming, especially when Tycjan and Adam are both loose in the kitchen. 😂

📱 WhatsApp us on 0771 717 0037 or book through the normal channels.

Available from tomorrow lunchtime.

Come hungry. Very hungry. Especially if you’re eyeing up that kilo of beef! 😂🥩

Hello lovely people! ❤️

We’ve got some rather gorgeous new specials landing at the King Alfred from Wednesday 30th September, and Tycjan and Adam will be in the kitchen cooking up a storm! 👨‍🍳🔥

Have a little look at what’s coming…

🐦 SEARED WOOD PIGEON — £24
Buttery leeks, mashed potato & a rich port reduction.

🥩 CHATEAUBRIAND — £60
Potato dauphinoise, tenderstem broccoli & béarnaise sauce. A proper treat and perfect for sharing! ❤️

🌶️ ROASTED RED PEPPER & PARMESAN PAPPARDELLE — £18
Big, comforting flavours and a lovely autumnal addition to the board. 🍝

🥧 PULLED BEEF BRISKET PIE — £18.50
Mashed potato, fine beans & gravy. Proper pub comfort food as the nights start drawing in!

These are specials, so they’ll only be around while they last. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

We’re expecting these to be popular, particularly that Chateaubriand, so pre-booking is definitely advised.

📲 WhatsApp us to book your table: 07717 177037

We can’t wait to have you all in and see what you think! ❤️

Lots of love,
Tycjan and Adam and the team at the King Alfred ###

She’s lying. 😂
