ANNOUNCEMENT 📣
After 12 incredible years, the time has come for us to close the restaurant.
Since 2014, we’ve had the privilege of serving the people of Burnley and being part of so many memories, celebrations and moments. What started as a small idea as a tiny milkshake bar became something we could never have imagined.
Over the years we’ve welcomed thousands of customers through our doors, created jobs for so many amazing people and built friendships that will stay with us forever. We’ve seen first dates turn into marriages, celebrated birthdays, graduations and special occasions and created a place that genuinely felt part of the town.
I’m UNBELIEVABLY proud of what we achieved.
Hospitality has unfortunately changed massively over the last few years and, like many independent businesses, it has become harder and harder to keep going. Rising costs and the overall climate have ultimately made things impossible for the restaurant to continue in its current form.
This hasn’t been an easy decision at all.
I won’t go too much into detail publicly, but did want to be honest with the people who have supported us from day one - increasing costs across all areas of the business have made it impossible to keep going. Insane VAT bills, business rates, ridiculous energy bills, increased wages/national insurance contributions and ever increasing food/drink costs have squeezed us dry.
Independent hospitality businesses are struggling everywhere and it’s genuinely sad to see so many local places disappearing. These places are more than just restaurants and bars. They create jobs, support local suppliers, bring life into towns and give people somewhere to make memories.
I would also like to clarify that all staff will receive any wages and entitlements owed to them. This is currently being handled through the formal closure process and staff have been updated accordingly. The team have worked incredibly hard for us over the years and ensuring they receive what they are entitled to remains very important to me.
To every single customer who has supported us over the last 12 years - thank you. Whether you visited once, came every weekend, booked celebrations with us or simply recommended us to friends and family, you’ve been part of our story.
To all of our staff, past and present, thank you for the hard work, the laughs, the stressful services, the late nights and everything in between. The restaurant would never have been what it was without you.
And finally, thank you to Burnley for supporting us for over a decade. I’ve always been a passionate advocate for Burnley as a town and that will never change. However that being said, Burnley needs your support now more than ever. It’s not seeing the footfall/custom that it once did and that is having a huge impact on many amazing local businesses. It’s too late for us, but please show your support for your favourites - it really is the difference between keeping or losing them.
We’re heartbroken that this chapter is coming to an end, but incredibly proud of everything we built together.
