💜 JUNE'S COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING PARTNER 💜
This month, we're putting the football rivalry, quiz scores and who's buying the next round to one side.
For June, every penny raised through our charity collection tins will go towards helping fund an Abi Cooling Cot for King's Mill Hospital.
This cause was chosen by local parents Ben and Abbie following the heartbreaking loss of their son, Grayson, on 24th May 2026 at 8:14am.
No parent should ever have to experience the loss of a child.
What many people don't realise is that, after such a loss, families are often relying on every precious minute they can get to hold their baby, create memories, introduce family members and say goodbye in their own time.
Unfortunately, when Ben and Abbie needed that time most, there was no Abi Cooling Cot available within A&E.
They shared these words with us:
"Without a cold cot available in A&E at the time, every moment became a race against time, and we were forced to say goodbye far too soon because he had already been out in the heat for too long.
The grief in those moments was overwhelming, raw, painful and impossible to put into words. There was no space to pause, to breathe, or to truly hold onto those final memories every parent deserves.
The emotions were horrendous, filled with shock, sorrow, and a deep, aching sense of loss that no family should ever have to rush through."
Rather than allowing that heartbreak to define them, Ben and Abbie have chosen to fight for something positive.
Their goal is simple:
To help ensure that families facing the unimaginable at King's Mill Hospital have access to an Abi Cooling Cot when they need it most.
An Abi Cooling Cot gives bereaved families something priceless.
Time.
Time to hold their baby. Time to create memories. Time to introduce grandparents, brothers and sisters. Time to say goodbye properly.
Throughout June, our charity collection tins will be dedicated entirely to this cause.
