Fries without the prize!
Commiserations to all the Somerset Gooners who made the journey to the Beer Hall this Saturday. Alas, it wasn’t quite enough.
Josh, our esteemed bar steward and local resident Titus had fought off the sun’s ray’s valiantly with stacked bacon fries packets to raise the projector so that its image would land above the usual allotted (sun spoiled) area in order for the evenings spectacle to be witnessed.
Many of you may be aware of the gorgeous light that can spill in to the Beer Hall as the sun moves over the hill behind the cheese cave .
Previous efforts have been made to block out the sun when screening matches in the past. Notably the Euros 2 years ago in our first summer. From blackout blind to huge barnets, courtesy of other local resident Natty.
Improvements will be made for the forthcoming World Cup fixtures. Hopefully a prize will be won!🏆
