​What a spectacular weekend! The Broadstairs Dickens Festival was a roaring success, and the energy right across town was simply incredible.

​To everyone who dressed up, visited, and filled our streets and promenade with smiles—thank you! The atmosphere all weekend was pure magic, and it was fantastic to see the community and visitors celebrating the best of our town together. ☀️✨

​The weather absolutely played ball, and while the town was buzzing, the beach itself was beautifully relaxed—making it the perfect, peaceful setting for a family day on the sand. 🏖️👌

We couldn't have said it better ourselves. We spotted this beautiful post from a local resident today and just had to share it. It perfectly sums up everything our community stands for:

📢"As I do most Sundays, I took a stroll down to Broadstairs prom to have a couple of Sunday pints. Being the end of half term it was pretty quiet, far less people about and totally different to the previous weekend.

​Why am I posting this? Really to point out that last weekend's issues and problems were bad—bad for our visitors, bad for our businesses, and bad for residents and the town. All my thoughts go out to those affected and who suffered from the appalling behaviour.

​But, bad as the number of those who were causing the issues... compared to the number who visited over a hot and brilliant weekend, they were the minority. They do not represent the majority of visitors to our town, nor do they represent the majority of young people.

​The weekend of the 23rd to 25th was bad, but that does not represent Broadstairs or its visitors. We are still an amazing town with a superb community, a community that can put that weekend in the past. We must not let that weekend define us or Broadstairs. The positives far outweigh the negatives. We are a great, vibrant, welcoming, happy, and brilliant little town and community, and we should advertise and celebrate that. I love Broadstairs, let's all give it some love."📢

​Half term is officially a wrap, and thanks to our incredible locals, visitors, and those amazing lads who cleaned the beach on Friday, the positives won. 👑🏆

​Broadstairs is, and always will be a welcoming, safe, and happy place for everyone. Thank you to everyone who showed our town some love this week.

Last weekend, our post highlighting the negative actions of a few youths reached just shy of 750,000 views. Today, we want to shine a light on something that deserves far more attention, respect, and reach.

​Meet these three absolute legends. 👑👏
​Today, they took it upon themselves to volunteer, grab some bags, and spend their Friday clearing up Viking Bay to keep our beach beautiful for everyone. No drama, no chasing "clout"—just pure pride in their community and hard work.

​They are the perfect reminder that there is so much more good out there than bad, and we should never judge an entire generation by the low standards of a few.

Yesterday should have been a brilliant Bank Holiday for everyone.

Instead, parts of our beach and town were disrupted by reckless behaviour from some groups, to the point police had to attend. Sadly, videos shared across TikTok and other social media show the behaviour wasn’t just on the beach, but throughout our town.

What makes it even more disappointing is that some small local businesses were forced to close early because of the disruption and intimidation caused. After working so hard for a busy Bank Holiday, that simply isn’t fair.
Broadstairs is a beautiful seaside town built around families, local businesses, visitors and community spirit. People should be able to enjoy a sunny day safely and respectfully, whether they are young or old.

We also want to make clear that while we are a licensed premises, we take responsible service seriously. Most individuals involved were clearly bringing alcohol with them and were not purchasing from ourselves or other licensed businesses on the beach.

To the people who came here simply to cause trouble, film chaos for social media and disrespect our town — you are not welcome. This town is not a backdrop for clout, mayhem or intimidation.

Thankfully, today is a new day.

The sun is shining, the beach is beautiful, and we are back open today serving the families, locals and visitors who make this place what it is ❤️🍦🌊
