The History of Westbury-On-Trym Men’s Club
Westbury-On-Trym Men’s Club was founded in 1897 by Mrs Heyworth as a memorial to her two late brothers Messrs. The Club was formed as a meeting place for the gentlemen of the parish of Westbury-On-Trym where they could play games such as Billiards, Whist, Cribbage and Darts. Facilities at the Club
Whilst the principles of the club have remained unchanged
there have been a huge number of renovations and additions to the Club from its founding days. The Club now boasts a fully licensed bar, trading at subsidised prices. Two wide-screen HD TV’s showing all the sport and subjects of interest from Sky Sports, BT Sport, Euro Sport and many more. The Club has two full sized Snooker tables which are cared for and refurbished regularly. There is also a Dart board, Games machines, Chess, Cribbage and more. Events and Away-Days
Westbury-On-Trym Men’s Club offers a wide range of events both on and off site. With away days ranging from golf days, brewery tours, a day at the races and trips to live sporting events there really is something for everyone. On site there are also a wide range of events and activities. With talks from various people of interest, quiz nights, Patron Saint day celebrations, wine & cheese tasting, spirit appreciation evenings and annual snooker, cribbage, chess and dart competitions there’s certainly a busy schedule! Westbury-On-Trym Men’s Club currently has c.300 members. These range greatly in age, occupation, lifestyle and membership longevity. We have an age range of members from the early 20’s to the late 90’s! With such a range of ages and lifestyles you can be sure whatever time and day you decide to pop into the club you will be assured of a warm welcome! Further Information
