Open Wednesday to Sunday you'll find the bar in the heart of Bristol's Gay Village at the crossroads where Old Market Street becomes West Street.

I can now confirm the the funeral of our friend Kevin Farrel or KJ to us all, will take place at Westerleigh Crematorium, in the Waterside Chapel on Friday the 2nd of October at 11.39am
Details of the wake will follow shortly, but of course the Bristol Bear Bar will be open that evening for anyone that can not make the day, to say there last goodbyes.
The family has ask that this be a celebration of KJ life and we would ask you to dress for a Summer Garden party or even put on your favourite Hawiian shirt.
KJ you will be truly missed

Kevin Farrel 14th August 2026
It is with very much sadness that I have to tell you all of the passing of our wonderful friend Kevin, known to you all as KJ.
KJ passed in the early hours of Friday morning. This devastating news come from his loving family and we here at the Bear Bar are all heartbroken.
At this point we have very little information as to how he passed and of course I will update this post as and when I get any more information from his family.
I would ask that you all join me in sending our love and sympathy to KJ family and all his friend.
From myself I can only say, I will truly miss you baby
