The pausing of the ‘Eternal’ era at Almondsbury
Hello to all you salsa and bachata dancers. Indeed to all of our friends out there in the salsa and bachata scene.
I hope you are all living your lives to the full (in whatever form) in this strange world that we are living in at this time.
The more I speak to people, the more I realise that we are all at one end of the spectrum or the other (and at varying stages in between) on the road back to classes, dancing, parties and generally meeting and indeed ‘touching’ people again…. let alone going to a full on dance night in a hot sweaty room with 100’s of other people. …….. Some people are 100% back there already and others (like myself) have different circumstances and are at the other end of the scale and are still watching daily coronavirus figures, and are choosing to still pretty much isolate and socially distance.
So what does that mean for Eternal Salsa and Bachata?
Tuesday bachata classes
I have already chosen to stop running weekly classes.
However, I know that there is interest in Moxom Room classes, so they might well start at some point but with others running them.
Monthly party nights - Eternal Salsa - Late and Latin at Almondsbury
I am also now formally taking a step back from running monthly salsa/bachata party nights.
Many of you know that, due to personal circumstances, I had been a silent partner in Late and Latin for the year before lockdown. Now coming out of lockdown and on the road to a ‘normal’ life, it’s time for me to reassess a few things and make some changes. Now, I know that just because I’m not ready to go dancing or run party nights, does not mean that this should stop others who do want to do this. :-)
So, whilst Eternal Salsa - Late & Latin parties will stop for now, Salsa and Bachata at Almondsbury will continue: Lee Swift and James Summerhill will be taking on running salsa party nights at Almondsbury through Salsa Montuno.
However…. We Never say Never! It is likely that in 2022 we will jointly (with the full team) run a few Late and Latin nights and I am hoping to still run the the Salsa for Charity summer party night and the NYE event as well.
For now I’d like to say ‘many thanks’ for all your support over the years from when I started dancing, then teaching with Cressida, to nights at Bath Salsa, the Claverton Rooms, Bachata nights with Raynor, LatinFest, Salsa Evolution, Bradley Stoke classes and Eternal Salsa and Bachata, and most especially all those involved in our Tuesday Bachata classes and Late and Latin at Almondsbury, Phil and Jenny, Lee, James, Vicki, Kamila, Belinda, Linda, as well as all the teachers over the years and especially all those that have given their time and support at our charity events.
Its been a fabulous 20 odd years and here is looking forward to many more, albeit in a different way.
So for now keep enjoying your dancing, be that at home, solo or back out in the dancing scene.
Myself and Andy will be back dancing at some point so we will see you all again for a dance and a catch up.
We will keep the Eternal pages on Facebook, but close the website for now.
Indeed I’ll be in touch in 2022 on any updates on Late and Latin, Salsa for Charity and any NYE parties, and I’ll be happily supporting Salsa Montuno at Almondsbury..
Glad that salsa parties will start to happen again, please do support them when you feel ready to venture out.
Much love Jools and Andy xx
