Taking advantage of intermitent blue skies and natural sunlight...
Sometimes, I use artificial light to photograph my work, but it doesn't come close to actual sunlight, and October's skies are so crisp!

This is a follow-on from my post back on 23rd July about my lovely neighbour, Sandra, who has sadly gone into a care home due to demntia.
My youngest daughter Myla and I are now members of . We take a handful of Sandras rocks and go along and use their amazing facilities. We are slowly learning about the shaping, polishing, and faceting of rocks, minerals, and precious stones. Its a very mindful activity and its like Christmas watching the patterns appear. Many of them feel like glass and have transparent qualities.
I'll be taking these up to Sandra to show her. Some of these are her unfinished projects. It's wonderful to see her face light up.
I'm back in my studio today. Lots to do in the next few weeks, but I'm enjoying my afternoons off and learning new things!

I love to collect other people's art. It's so inspiring to be surrounded by well crafted objects, especially when they are as beautifully bonkers as this egg!

I'm cementing several pieces. I need a good podcast distraction because this is my least favourite job...

My eldest daughter Edie is in Hong Kong on a Uni placement. She's there for 4 months studying tailoring and milinary. I'm living vicariously through her as she explores, visiting mainland China and the many tiny islands. I've been making this piece inspired by her photos and adventures.
(It's not leaded up yet, and it's filthy, but I got impatient..🤣)

Landscapes...
Miniature glass paintings, created with reusche paint, glycol, and lavender oil. There's a certain turbulence in this one, timely with the onset of October and seasonal changes.
