One week until our November party!

After skipping our regular party night for Microscope last month, we are so excited to see you all again next weekend ✨

Time to meet your first DJ for November: KNOXIOUS 🎪

Born into dance through the switch-y, fusion-y Blues scene of Bristol, UK, Dave “Knoxious” Knox creates eclectic and diverse dance journeys of playful, dynamic highs and brooding, intensely intimate lows through global hip-hop grooves, velvety basslines, and percussive, beat-driven production. Sets are crafted to flow fuelled by rhythm, soaked in low-end sonics, and locked into the groove.

DJs regularly for Bristol's Blue Mondays and Kaleidoscope Fusion events and also at Fusionauts Quest (Berlin), Motley Hue (NYC), Irn Blues (Glasgow), C***r House Blues (Bristol), Fluid Fusion (London) & Severn Sinners (Bristol).

For the first time ever at Camp Kaleidoscope, we're bringing together THREE of your favourite fusion teachers to work together over the week.

Meet Flouer, Frankie, and Rolando - our fusion dream team ✨

Flouer has been an integral part of making Camp happen from the very beginning, acting as our lead teacher since the first edition in 2023! Rolando and Frankie have both co-taught previous editions of Camp with Flouer, and we are really excited to bring this trio of amazing dancers together for Camp Kaleidoscope 2027.

🏃‍♀️‍➡️ Ready to sign up? Track A applications are open NOW - if you submit your application by this Monday, 2nd November, you'll get feedback in time for registrations opening on 9th November.

🌟 If you're taking Track B this year, no application necessary - just register as usual on 9th November, and check out the Track B pre-requisite moves ahead of the event!

Descriptive text: Flouer, Frankie, and Rolando, our three teachers for Camp Kaleidoscope 2027, are dancing in an outdoor pavilion. They take turns dancing with each other and switching roles, with Rolando initially leading Frankie. Flouer joins the dance and leads Frankie; Flouer and Rolando then connect, and Flouer switches to following; Frankie and Rolando then reconnect and dance again, with Frankie following.

Our November fusion party is next weekend! Meet your teacher: HAZEL ✨

Dancing begins on the inside. In the heart and the imagination. Ever since Hazel could walk she was doing it to the beat and making up her own rules. She has been teaching in the physical arts for over 15 years and has been in love with social partner dancing since 2010.

Hazel draws on an eclectic world of influences blending technical disciplines such as contemporary dance and yoga with the improvisation skills that she picked up at clown school. The clown tries to be present, reactive to its surroundings, and embraces vulnerabilities.

All Hazel’s classes are underpinned by strong values around consent, emotional honesty and a desire to deeply connect to, rather than consume, the art of making music.

At our November party, Hazel will be teaching a workshop on Deep Listening; developing presence in leading and following. Practice letting go of perfectionism and make space for the joy of spontaneity and connection.

Suitable for all levels and dance backgrounds - if you're new to fusion, this is a great time to come join us!

Kaleidoscope XXL is what it says on the tin: a Kaleidoscope party, turned up 6 notches.

✨️ three nights of parties in incredible venues
✨️ two days of fusion dance workshops with Bristol's best teachers
✨️ headline DJs creating soundscapes with multiple sets across the weekend
✨️ guest DJs bringing one-off magic moment sets
✨️ as much dancing as your legs can handle

Track B at Camp Kaleidoscope is all about connecting with the joy of dancing and learning - you like learning about dance, but you're also here to have a great time doing it, surrounded by supportive peers.

We throw dance parties where all bodies are invited. You already know how to dance, we're just here to give you permission to embrace all of the ways your body wants to move.

Come alone, come with friends, dip in a toe or plunge in the deep end. However you want to party, we're here for it.

Looking to seriously level up your fusion dancing next year? Hell yeah, join Track A at Camp Kaleidoscope!

Track A is our audition track - it's for you if you want to work hard, you're hoping to leave with homework, and you're comfortable with having more material than you can master in class. Applications are open now!

Here's Flouer and Frankie showing what we want to see in your audition video - a sequence of specific moves set by our teaching team, with both partners taking turns to lead and follow. When you submit your application, we'll also ask you to share a little about your dance experience, and give you a set of drills to practice before the event, so you can start working on your technique right away 🤓

🌟 Track A applications for Camp Kaleidoscope are now OPEN 🌟

Camp Kaleidoscope is a week-long deep dive into partnered technique for fusion dancers. It's split into two tracks, so that everyone can have a stretching experience in class. Track A is for you if you're pretty experienced and here to work hard - you are hoping to leave with homework and are comfortable with having more material than you can master in class. Track A is application-only.

💥 Track A: THE POWER LAB 💥

This year we're focusing on power, control, and precision to push your dancing even further. We'll work our feet and legs for specific, musical weight shifts. Increase our stretch for more intricate patterns. Add power moves like one-foot spins. You'll also get research questions, grooves from all three teachers, and - since there are three of them this year - some fun steal dances and work in trios. All of it in service of understanding and polishing your own personal dancing.

❣️ HOW TO APPLY ❣️

2. Film your audition video.
3. Submit your audition video and the short application form telling us about your dance experience.
4. Grab your ticket for Camp when general registrations open on Monday 9th November.

We will review and respond to applications in batches - generally within 4 weeks. To get your response prior to registration opening, submit by Monday 2nd November.

❓ What about Track B? ❓

Track B is also all about connecting with the joy of dancing and learning, working with experienced peers and supporting each other to grow and develop your dancing, but in a less intensive format than Track A. If that's what you're excited about, you can join Track B when general registration opens on Monday 9th November (no application required).
