🚨 WE'RE HIRING: ASSISTANT MANAGER NEEDED! 🚨
📍 The Admiral, Brighton (bottom of Elm Grove, Hanover)
We’re on the lookout for a hardworking, motivated and diligent Assistant Manager to join our small, tight-knit team at The Admiral! If you're after a fresh challenge in a pub that blends proper old-school boozer charm with new-school vibes, keep reading 👇
🍻 A bit about us...
We’re a fun, vibrant and inclusive pub that’s become a local fave for students, creatives, and locals alike. Our core crowd sits in the 18–26 range, but everyone’s welcome here, and we work hard to create a space where all feel safe, seen and part of the Admiral community 💛
Shifts are often solo, so confidence and independence are key. You’ll also be leading the team during busier periods, and solid communication—even when you’re not face-to-face—is a must. We serve pizza by the slice 🍕 cooked right behind the bar, so food-handling experience is a big bonus. Being adaptable and keen to learn new skills will go a long way here!
🛠️ What you’ll be doing:
Supporting the General Manager with day-to-day operations
Helping train and develop the team 💪
Stock ordering, management & rotation 📦
Cellar management & line cleaning 🍺
Assisting with recruitment & onboarding
Getting stuck into our socials & marketing 📲
Staying on top of licensing and health & safety compliance
Being kitchen-trained to cover when needed
Leading by example and delivering top-notch customer service every time ✨
Don’t stress if that list looks long – we’ll give you full training, and we’re a laid-back, friendly bunch. You won’t be thrown in the deep end.
💡 What we’re looking for:
At least 1 year in a supervisor role (or above) in hospitality
Confident running a bar & working solo
A natural multitasker – it gets busy and you'll need to spin a few plates!
Organised, proactive and upbeat – a proper “get stuck in” attitude 🙌
A team player with initiative who brings good vibes and supports others
Shifts include a mix of days, evenings, weekends and holidays. We’re flexible with your schedule – but we’ll need some back too.
🎉 What you get:
Around 35 hours/week (4-day week or fewer hours possible if preferred)
A fun, friendly and supportive working environment
£14.10/hour, plus holiday pay, pension etc.
Personal Licence course fully funded if you don’t have one
Level 2 Food Hygiene Cert paid for 👨🍳
