Well it was definitely my last night ! Thank you for keeping me busy so I had no time for tears ! You are all a fab bunch which I have been honoured to serve . We are a family we are an extension of your front room and sadly it’s time for me to stop. I say goodbye to a time which has given me so much joy ! I can not express the loneliness I now feel … the Battle is back open tomorrow it’s still there for you . I will be on the other side of the bar soon !

Hello All

Our date of departure is confirmed!

Our last night is Wednesday 12th July . Handover on the Thursday.

I have been humbled by your gifts cards and kind words. The Battle stole my heart ❤️ because no matter what anyone says it’s you my customers that have made the pub what it is for the past 18 and half years. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, worked hard but have always left with a smile.

I will hope to mix with you all on the other side of the bar…. I’m scared and have no idea what I will do next but I will always be grateful for the time spent at the Battle

The process appears to be longer than first thought.!!

So to confirm Pete and I are still in residence . So this is not our Last Weekend !

Unfortunately we have closed the kitchen a bit sooner than we should but have started the close down !

As soon as I have more info I will let you know .

It’s one of those posts …. But it’s all a bit confusing… it appears that our last date for me at Battle maybe changing !!

Unfortunately it’s out of my hands !

Just to add … we will feature in the Roy Grace tv programme…. I’ll let you decide as we are portrayed as the villains pub !! But the location fee has been equally divided between the two charities who have been in residence longer than me RSPB and RNLI a parting gesture but you have all supported donated and rung that ships wheel …. So annoying … and collected those badges and I am incredibly grateful!

Hello All
My time at the Battle is nearly over and although I have no idea what my future holds I will not to be turning to crime !

We have lots of those sets of house keys that have been left with us , just in case you lock yourselves out of your homes …. Please can you come and collect over the next couple of weeks .

Many thanks to all those who attended the Charity Food and Drink Quiz on Wednesday 22/03/2023 and a special thanks to M and B Meats, for a fantastic Raffle prize, Vanessa for writing the Quiz and Paul Zenon for an excellent job as Quiz master.
We raised £118.00 for the RNLI which we will pass on to them in the near future
