Berlin - Brighton Bringing our Berlin parties and music straight from the Berlin underground to a city near you. From Funk, to House, to Techno. Ve have vays to make you dänze.

Berlin is a club night which started in Brighton and is the brainchild of German DJ Markus Saarländer who moved to Brighton 11 years ago with the aim of bringing the German Underground to Brightonians everywhere. Markus' philosophy has always been that the Underground is all about the music and the vibe and not about egos or VIP and injecting the fun back into clubbing.

in has made a massive impact on the Underground scene bringing some of the biggest artists to the city. Berlin has grown to hosting radio shows and collaborating with a number of other top nights and venues across the country as well as a red hot record label, which has gained the respect and support from some of the biggest names in the business.

The German government could make a move to reclassify nightclubs across the country, recognising them as cultural and artistic venues rather than entertainment spaces.

The move would support clubs that are under threat of rising costs and steep overheads, and would allow them to operate in certain residential areas, The Guardian reports.

Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s cabinet approved plans to reclassify venues in May, though it must still go through the Bundestag and the Bundesrat for final consideration.

If approved, nightclub building regulations would be changed to make it harder for developers to evict venue operators from their current home.

Nightclubs are currently classified in the same bracket as strip clubs, brothels and betting shops, per The Guardian, with stricter regulations in place than cultural spaces.
