Berlin - Brighton Bringing our Berlin parties and music straight from the Berlin underground to a city near you. From Funk, to House, to Techno. Ve have vays to make you dänze.

Berlin is a club night which started in Brighton and is the brainchild of German DJ Markus Saarländer who moved to Brighton 11 years ago with the aim of bringing the German Underground to Brightonians everywhere. Markus' philosophy has always been that the Underground is all about the music and the vibe and not about egos or VIP and injecting the fun back into clubbing.

​Now in its 8th year, Berlin has made a massive impact on the Underground scene bringing some of the biggest artists to the city. Berlin has grown to hosting radio shows and collaborating with a number of other top nights and venues across the country as well as a red hot record label, which has gained the respect and support from some of the biggest names in the business.

Before she joins us alongside Juliet Sikora at WaterBear on 19 September, we thought we'd take a little trip back to 2023…

We sat down with Banxi aka Caroline Banks for a Brighton Mixtapes interview and guest mix, and her story is a pretty special one.

From being the quiet kid on the school bus listening to drum 'n' bass and happy hardcore 🎧… to discovering London's underground club scene, building a career that took her around the world, spending time in Ibiza, China and Goa, and eventually finding a home here in Brighton.

Her sound has evolved along the way too, from harder, faster beginnings into a beautifully layered world of minimal, melodic techno, organic house and deep grooves.

And when we asked her to describe her Brighton Mixtapes session in three words?

Deep. Vibey. Multilayered.

Sounds pretty good to us. 🔥
