18th February 2024: Sadly, this far into 2024, there has been no cetacean sightings at POOLE BAY. Don't be despondent, as this is how Cetacean watching goes. When I lived in Parkstone, Poole, I once went 14 months (Cetacean watching 4 to 7 hours-a-day, five days-a week, without finding my own Cetaceans, at Poole Bay! Do keep your eyes peeled when at Poole Bay, as the winter months seem to be the best time to find Harbour Porpoise & Common Bottlenose Dolphins at POOLE BAY. During the 2010's I observed a BASKING SHARK, at the bay, and I was pleasantly surprised to see it reported on TV! They showed footage of 'my' Basking Shark, coming close into the shoreline. You should have seen the panic it caused! Hundreds of people screaming and running out of the water, as quick as they could! Basking Sharks are mild mannered sharks, who usually do not hurt humans, unless they threaten their youngsters! During this period I also observed a stunning, huge Ocean Sunfish!! If you put in the time, you can be rewarded like I was. Sadly, my daughter, Davina, got herself stung by a jellyfish species, at Poole Bay, as she paddled in the small waves (in the shallow water), along the shoreline. From 2004 to 2024, my daughter is the only person, to my knowledge, who has been stung by a jellyfish species, at POOLE BAY. So, keep your eyes open when you have a paddle or a swim, but don't worry unduly! Do have a wonderful 2024, and don't forget to post your sightings from POOLE BAY or just let me know. I am particularly would like to receive records of Cetaceans, pinnipeds, sunfish, sharks, butterflies and birds. God bless you all PBCW group members, and enjoy the rest of 2024! - Ian Rabjohns Poole Bay Cetacean Watch founder.

It's happened again! My Facebook 'Ian Rabjohns' account/pages is denying me access: I cannot get into to use it!! I only get logged into my 'Poole Bay Cetacean Watch', account! So folks, I'll have to contribute to 'UK Wildlife' as, 'Poole Bay Cetacean Watch', and not as Ian Rabjohns!! I don't know why this keeps happening to me! Do any 'UK Wildlife' members know how to correct this problem? What a lovely Christmas present, not being able to contact anyone on Facebook , as myself!! I also got a nasty, early Christmas present: my Auntie Brenda died on 20th December! She was such a wonderful human being. I shall miss her terribly. I do hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas! TTFN, Ian Rabjohns. (P.S. Last time I lost use of my own Facebook account, it righted itself after 4 days, so I hope it does the same this time!)

Hi to all my Facebook friends! Sadly, my 'Ian Rabjohns' account has obviously been hacked! I can no longer send photographs to my 'Disabled Wildlife Photographers' group or to my Bay Cetacean Watch' group!! Does anyone know how to contact Facebook to report this hacking? When I send messages from my 'Ian Rabjohns' account, it says that 'Poole Bay Cetacean Watch' sent the message and not Ian Rabjohns, and the same regarding my 'Disabled Wildlife Photographers' group!! I can no longer upload my photographs to either of my groups and am really distressed about it! Why do brain-deads hack people's pages? What do they gain from it? Have they got nothing else to occupy their brains with? To all members of 'Disabled Wildlife Photographers' & 'Poole Bay Cetacean Watch', I do not know how to correct these problems, so I don't know how long it will be before I can start to upload photographs and messages to the two groups of mine. I am sorry, but will be trying hard to rectify the problems. Thanks for your patience and understanding, my friends.
