In May last year, we took on a 5-year fixed-term tenancy to continue investing in our future at the White lion.
However, we were informed that, as part of an ongoing estate review, Stonegate are selling the freehold interest in a small number of businesses — and The White Lion is one of them.
We’ll be honest — this came as a complete shock, especially after committing to a 5-year fixed term. After some research, we discovered we were still within the 6-month cooling-off period which allowed us to withdraw from our tenancy agreement.
After much thought, we made the difficult decision to step back from the tenancy. The main reason is the uncertainty around future ownership of the business — we simply can’t be sure what plans a new owner may have.
We have completed our 6 month notice period at The White Lion and on Saturday, it will be our last evening.
