The staff and l wish all our customers a merry Christmas and a happy new year. We're closed on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day but we're open Friday and Saturday this week and of course the big new years eve bash.

Now then now then guys and gals, this weekend we are doing what we call pre Christmas bargain time. So from 8.00 till 11.00 we are going to do these brands at £2.00 a pint:

Carlsberg
Coors
Strongbow
On Frodays we have our Jager night and Jagers are £1.50 and bombs £1.80
Double Smirnoff and draught mixer £3.00 as always.
Three for a fiver on selected bottle of lager.

We have had big beer cellar problems and we have these on for you but today a python cooler decided not to function so here we go again, but at least some taps are on.

We don’t have any bands on this weekend so the DJ will be pounding out your favourite anthems from 9.00 and the doors open at 8.00.

Thanks to all who came out this weekend especially the Saturday all dayer and cheers to the organisers who might be just planning something quite special for next year.
And of of course a big shout to the bands on both days, they were very good indeed.

We've just taken a booking for Love/Hate for March 14th. When they played this year it was a really good gig and well attended.
Details to follow when we confirm the ticket price.

This Friday we have the superb Fatal Smile from Sweden for a return and the also very good Lovebite in support.

We are even making this a free entry gig.

On Saturday we have stand in DJ Davi who used to do the DJ work on the Wheatsheaf and Smithy with Jamie being away so I hope you all give him a warm Gasworks welcome and or course he is request friendly.

Well our bad luck run continues with bands cancelling at the Gasworks Venue as another won't be on. I was checking with the band about Friday and they said the whole tour has been cancelled due to a dubious agent but they didn't think to inform us this.
So if any bands or promoters fancy getting something together for this Friday then feel free to get in touch at: [email protected]

The John Verity show was an absolute blinder and to say we only had 24 hours notice due to us both having a free date, thanks to all who turned up and the band.
Sadly it was a bit of a quiet night maybe due the presence earlier on with the two static protests. It is a shame that politics can get in the way of music and the weather was a bit drab too.
