Calling Last Orders for the last time!
It is with a heavy heart that I write this to you; we have been honoured to be the custodians of this wonderful property for over 11 years.
Unfortunately it is now time to end this amazing chapter, The Swan will close its doors on September 16th 2023.
We will be vacating the building on September 20th. At which point the pub, hotel and restaurant will close for the foreseeable future. Currently there is no information on the future of the building that we can share with you, therefore it is likely to be closed for quite some time.
We have had an amazing (and challenging) time here, dealing with several floods (including two in the first two years of operation), we have certainly enjoyed developing our Thai offering, with The Thai Chilli Restaurant, a tradition that we will continue in our other property The Old Bell Hotel in Warminster. We have also been blessed with having the space to really develop the live music scene, being the host venue for the weekly Bradford on Avon Folk Club Sessions, as well as hosting sessions and Jams with Blues Nights, English Folk Music, Irish, Sea Shanties and over the years we have also hosted Open Mic nights, Country Music Sessions, Traditional, Gypsy and contemporary Jazz sessions and more. A tradition we hope to be able to continue at The Old Bell in Warminster.
We have hosted many other groups including the Moulton Bicycle Club Meets, Vintage Car meets, The Green Man Festival, honestly the list is wonderfully endless and we are so proud to have been part of all these events over the years and want to thank everyone who supported us with these and other events.
The Swan has a special place in many peoples’ hearts as we have also hosted so many celebration events including weddings, celebration parties, retirement parties and many more.
We know so many of you have such a connection with The Swan and we want to be able to give everyone the opportunity to share their stories, so we will have a guest book in the hotel if people want to come in and share their comments and or photos there is an online form that can be used at www.theswanbradford.co.uk Where you can add your stories, pictures etc. We will collate all this together with other historical information and present it to a local historical society along with other historical information we have. Alternatively you can email your stories, photos etc to [email protected] or drop in any stories or pop in and write something in a specially prepared visitors book.
We as Wiltshire Inns will continue to run and look for further opportunities in Wiltshire that provide a business platform and model that works for the group and it is certainly a disappointment that The Swan will not continue as part of Wiltshire Inns.
We will be contacting everyone who has bookings with us past September 16th to advise them of this situation, we will certainly offer, subject to availability, accommodation at our sister hotel, The Old Bell Hotel in Warminster, just 23 minutes drive away and also easily accessible by the train, The Old Bell is only a 3 minute walk from the train station.
We would like to thank you for your support over the last 11 years, we are very sorry to see The Swan close but hope to be able to see you at The Old Bell Hotel in Warminster in the future.
