We are back to almost full swing again.
September is our anniversary for the “Cosy Club” book club with its first birthday book already circulating amongst the Wednesday club and Monday’s club still waiting for their surprise book and discussion on August’s read.
The year has been a full on year with books, painting, w**e tasting, Ch*****ne tasting, supper clubs, live music and more and to celebrate the bookshop we have our very first literature festival on the 12th and 13th September. Something for all ages from little to adults. Make sure you’ve booked your tickets online.
All information can be found on its website bradfieldliteraturefestival.com
You can also purchase tickets in the shop at the till.
Look forward to Monday’s findings of the August read “No Small Thing” the debut novel by Orlaine MacDonald.
Keep an eye on our social pages for what’s coming up over the coming months.

August’s Cosy Club
“No Small Thing” - Orlaine MacDonald
“A debut novelist and one who acknowledges her journey in her acknowledgments.
It’s perhaps in its easiest form a story or stories weaving the demonstrative ways of social lives with a somewhat historical context. The novel in part centres around three women’s lives all Londoners by definition but I feel living the Black British experience.
Orlaine MacDonald writes in a way that leaves you feeling a little angry with the society they have allowed themselves to fall into, but also wondering why the characters allowed themselves to be sucked into the same cycle of living with mental health issues, misogyny and paedophilia. Generations all seemingly falling into the same trap. It’s a slow burner and a book that although can be read in a day lacked a flow or rhythm for me. That said there were some
stunningly beautiful sentences that as an author made me stop and reread the sentence, several times. Perseverance is what I would recommend.” J.V. Phaure

If you would like to be a part of the Cosy Club, then simply send a DM to enquire. The spaces do come up but they get snapped up very quickly. Each book is a
surprise. This month’s book which is our First Birthday will be wrapped up on the Cosy Club shelf if you want to buy it and be part of the surprise experience and read alongside us. It will be available next Tuesday as a surprise purchase.
