Roly Maden is an internationally acclaimed Cuban dancer, choreographer, musician, and entertainer whose work embodies the passion, rhythm, and soul of Cuban culture. Born in Havana and trained at Cuba’s most prestigious dance institutions, he has developed a distinctive artistic identity that seamlessly blends salsa, timba, Afro-Cuban dance, rumba, son, mambo, and cha-cha-chá with exceptional elegance, power, and musicality.

Recognised worldwide for his signature “Roly Maden Style,” he captivates audiences through dynamic movement, expressive artistry, and an innovative fusion of traditional Cuban roots with contemporary dance influences. His unique approach has earned him global recognition as one of the most influential ambassadors of Cuban dance.

Luanda Pau (Cuba)

Born in Havana, Cuba, in 1976, Luanda is a powerhouse of Afro-Cuban dance with 31 years of professional experience as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer. Her journey began at the prestigious National School of Art of Cuba (ENA), where she graduated in 1994 as a dancer and folk dance teacher. Her exceptional talent was recognised early, earning her a First Level Choreographer Certificate from the Cuban Ministry of Culture in 2001, followed by a Certificate of Direction, Screenplay, and Artistic Production in 2002. Further solidifying her pedagogical expertise, she obtained a Diploma in Popular and Cultural Education for Children and Adults in France in 2010.

Luanda’s performance career is equally illustrious. For eight years, she graced stages as a soloist with the Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba, showcasing her mastery of traditional forms. Her artistry has since captivated audiences at countless festivals and artistic events across Cuba, Europe, America, and Africa, demonstrating her global impact. Most recently, she lent her expertise as a creator choreographer at the Paradise Under the Stars Tropicana Show at The Lost Estate, a testament to her enduring relevance in the performing arts.
Now based in London, Luanda remains deeply passionate about her cultural heritage. She dedicates herself to its authentic development by organising and teaching a wide array of masterclasses and workshops. She’s also a driving force behind numerous UK and international events, all aimed at broadening awareness and understanding of Afro-Cuban culture and heritage outside of Cuba. Her influence extends to significant institutions, as she has served as artistic programmer manager & community artistic programming and dance educator for the Carlos Acosta Dance Centre/Foundation and works as a freelancer for Sadler’s Wells Theatre.

Looking ahead, Luanda is embarking on an exciting new venture: collaborating with Simon to bring the Afro Cuban Dance Festival to London. This ambitious project is currently in its careful planning stages, seeking a dedicated logistical team and key sponsors to bring this vibrant celebration to life.

👉 Only a few days left until MADE IN CUBA dance weekend 2025 in Bournemouth at our beautiful Dance Studio BOH Studios. This year we are bringing you for the first time in Bournemouth a very special person Maestra/teacher performer and choreographer Luanda Pau, specialising in Son Cubano, Casino (Cuban Salsa) Rumba & Afro-Cuban dances, The daughter of Domingo Pau, one of the legends and prominent of Afro-Cuban dances and Rumba in Cuba. Her classes are full of knowledge Culture and our Cuban heritage, She is a master in all these genres styles, , We highly reckoned her classes (She is fluent in English and French and of course Spanish

We also got a professional Cuban dancer Lazaro one of the most brilliant and distinguished dancers of Afro-Cuban in the world the original “RUMBERO” Lazaro will be teaching 3 classes over the weekend, Is you dance Cuban Salsa his classes are a MUST, Lazaro will be teaching CHACHALOKAFUN with All the Orishas (Yemaya, Elegua, Ogun, Chango & Oya), He also will be teaching YUKA, MAKUTA Mixing it with Salsa

Luanda and Lazaro both graduates from one of the most prestigious school of Dance in Cuba with over 20 years of experience

And to complete the list of artists, we have our favourite awesome local super talented teachers and our Salsa Explosion Team teaching Ladies styling, Salsa partner work plus Rueda de Casino (Anna, Jim, Xaris, Justyna, Arturas, Ioanna and Noemi). And to keep you dancing all night long, our awesome resident DJ Davide and I will be on the decks. It’s going to be a great experience!
