Firstly, that is the only picture of Mum I have on my phone but I feel it’s appropriate as it kind of sums her up in a nutshell.
As many of you will know, Saturday will be Kay’s last day as landlady of The Brew. We’ve made the decision to be able to focus on The Railway, and more importantly allow Mum to have some real time with the kids and grandkids. It has been a hard decision, and a long time coming, but we feel it’s right for us and The Brew to part ways 🥺
Saturday night will be our big farewell party, with Kingz of Leon playing 8.30 till 10.30. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting Kay, or any of the kids at The Brew over the last 5 years, we’d love to see your face for one last drink before we hand over to the beautiful guys at The Cricketers in Curdridge.
We’ve been at The Brew for 5 years, and for all its ups and downs we will never forget the laughs it’s given us. We want to give a huge thanks to all the staff over the years, the bands, the neighbours, local community, and to you, our loving and loyal customers. You’ve given us these memories we’ll never forget, so thank you ❤️ And Mum wants to give a massive thank you to Sandy for everything; really couldn’t have done it without you 😘
The picture below is from Summer 2019, when our bins were too heavy to get lifted. We shoved it in a corner for a month before realising we were going to have to deal with it as some point. We all refused to go near it, so as always it was Mum who came to the rescue, jumping in the rotting scut and emptying it by hand into other bins. This exemplifies one of her best qualities: never afraid to get stuck in doing the necessary jobs no one else could, with a total ‘give a sh*t’ attitude, and we love you for it all the more ❤️What it also shows that if things don’t work out at The Railway either, she can always get a job on a bin lorry 🤷🏼♀️😅
The Brew may be gaining a fresh team with the time and resources it needs to be the pub it can be, but it’ll be losing the best damn landlady it’s ever going to see ❤️
Thank you everyone, it’s been a blast. Love you xx
