​The riders set off from Helmsley at 11:00 AM and are expected to hit the Grantham Arms roundabout between 11:59 AM and 12:09 PM before heading up to Kirby Hill and on to Ripon.

​Whether you're lining the roundabout with flags to cheer on the peloton or following the live coverage on ITV4 to time your arrival perfectly, make sure to make a day of it!

Join us in raising a glass (or a bottle of Lucozade!) to our incredible Commis Chef, Modesto "Mod" de Marco, as he celebrates his 21st Birthday all week long across the Grantham Arms and the Fox & Hounds!

​Since joining our kitchen team in January 2025, we’ve had the absolute privilege of watching Mod grow into a fantastic chef and an essential part of our pub family. Beyond his work ethic, it’s his roaring confidence, awesome sense of humor, constant laughter, and unbeatable smile that light up the kitchen every single day.

Next up in our Meet the Team series is a familiar face around the pub—Tanya!

​From keeping our rooms spotless to supervising busy shifts on the floor, Tanya is an absolute superstar at The Grantham Arms.

Role: Front of House Supervisor / Housekeeping
Time at The Grantham Arms: Since early 2022

Local Roots: Originally from right here in Boroughbridge!

​A quick Q&A with Tanya:
​What led you into hospitality? "My mum! She grew up working in the industry and has always been a massive inspiration to me."

​What experience do you bring to the team? "Before joining the team here, I was Assistant Manager at The Ship Inn in Aldborough for almost 12 years. I also hold a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership."

​What do you love most about your job? "I love making people happy and helping families relax and enjoy their visit—especially during our big themed nights, Christmas parties, and busy weekend shifts when we have a full house!"

​Favourite way to unwind: "A cold, full-fat Pepsi! Outside of work, I love gardening, going for walks, and spending quality time with my kids."

​Best advice for someone starting in hospitality? "Be yourself, and remember that you can never ask too many questions."
