✨ Big ideas, brilliant people, and an exciting future for Bognor Regis!

Tonight, our Chair of Trustees Ollie Jeffery joined fellow creatives and local organisations at Light Up at The Track Bognor Regis to talk all things creativity, culture and the future of our town. 💡

And there’s plenty to get excited about… 👀

🎭 A brand-new 386-seat auditorium
🌊 Five studios overlooking the sea
🎨 More opportunities for local artists, performers and creatives
💡 A space for people of all ages to discover something new

The new Alexandra Arts Centre is about so much more than putting on a great show. It’s about bringing people together, championing local talent and creating opportunities for the next generation to find their thing.

We’re working towards opening in spring 2027, and we can’t wait to share more as it all comes to life!

As Ollie said, arts and culture shouldn’t be a luxury — they should be for everyone.

A huge thank you to James and Liv for bringing everyone together tonight. It’s inspiring to see so much passion, talent and ambition for our town. ❤️

Let’s make some noise for Bognor’s creative future! 🙌

As autumn gets underway, construction at the Alexandra Arts Centre, Bognor Regis, is continuing at pace, with the finishing details now beginning to arrive alongside the completion of major structural and services works. The building is starting to feel less like a construction site and more like the arts centre it's becoming.

This update includes activities going on behind the scenes, including event planning, recruitment and the role everyone taking part is playing to ensure Alexandra Arts Centre is a thriving cultural hub for Arun. https://ow.ly/JQgH50ZT5kA

We were very sad to hear of the death of Dame Esther Rantzen. ❤️

So, we thought we’d share this lovely little piece of Alexandra history.

Back at Christmas 1982, Esther appeared as Dick Whittington at the Alexandra Theatre, Bognor Regis — in what we understand was her first pantomime.

This original programme has survived for more than 40 years and is a wonderful reminder of the incredible people who have appeared on our stage over the years.

As we get closer to reopening as the Alexandra Arts Centre, we’re keen to make sure these stories and memories aren’t lost.

And if you have an Alexandra memory to share, we’d love to hear it. ❤️

✨ It’s starting to feel like a venue again…

There’s something rather exciting about seeing the finishing touches beginning to appear at Alexandra Arts Centre. Acoustic panelling is going in, walls are taking shape and spaces that have been very much “building site” for a while are starting to look and feel like the arts centre we’ve been working towards. 🎭

There’s still plenty happening behind the scenes, but every new detail brings us one step closer to welcoming audiences back through the doors.

And if you’d like to be part of that next chapter, you can Sponsor a Seat in our new auditorium. Your name will become part of the story of Alexandra Arts Centre for years to come. 💚
