Hello all!
This year, on Friday the 14th March, I am planning to run a “bottle bingo” to raise money for the charity Beat Eating Disorders. This will be held at the Bridgeness Miners Welfare in Bo’ness. Tickets will be going on sale for this soon.
Anyone who knows me will know that every year for the past four years I have done fundraising for this charity as it is really important to me. I struggled with anorexia in my teenage years, spending time in and out of an adolescent psychiatric hospital for treatment, and I truly don’t think I’d be here to tell the tale without the existence of this amazing charity, hence my passion for fundraising for them! I’ve done a variety of different things to raise money; raffles, a musical theatre show, awareness stalls, and last year I even done a sponsored skydive. I have attached pictures of some of these ventures, and have raised more than £3500 in total for Beat over the years.
For this years event, I am looking for any donations, big or small, to begin gathering prizes for this bingo. The prizes don’t need to be bottles per se (however I will need a lot of these) but there will also be a raffle, tombola etc which can include regular non-bottle prizes! For example chocolates, vouchers etc. Or, alternatively, donating money for me to buy prizes would also be excellent, if this is preferred. If this is preferred, I can take these donations in cash, or can provide bank details.
I would also like to take this opportunity to reach out to any local businesses who may be in a position to consider donating vouchers or prizes for this cause. Any and all help is much appreciated by myself in my attempts to give back to the charity which played a huge role in saving my life.
Closer to the time I will also be sharing a Just Giving page, which will send any donations directly to the charity, if you would still like to donate but don’t want to donate prizes or money for prizes.
Thank you all in advance, and I hope to see some of you there! 🤍
