💚🥔 WOW… WHAT A NIGHT AT CROFT PARK! 🥔💚

Where do we even start?! 😱

Firstly, a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who came down early to watch Kyle V Food take on the Spartans Spud Challenge

And then came a last-minute twist… 👀

Blyth Spartans Director Stephen Southern stepped up and went HEAD-TO-HEAD with Kyle! 😂🔥

Stephen gave it a VERY good bash, but at 11 minutes and two giant spuds down, enough was enough. 😂👏

Kyle powered on…

🏆 AND SMASHED THE FULL SPARTANS SPUD CHALLENGE IN 25 MINUTES 41 SECONDS 🏆

But we weren’t finished there…

🍨🥔 THE SWEET ROUND!

Kyle had challenged us to create a SWEET SPUD DESSERT — and you know Shield & Skillet… challenge accepted!

🍠 Sweet potato filled with crème brûlée
🔥 Crunchy torched top
🍐 Poached pear
🫐 Fresh blackberries
🍨 Salted caramel ice cream
🤎 Fudge pieces
🫐 Blackberry reduction

YES… A SWEET POTATO DESSERT! 😱😱😱

Kyle attempted it after FOUR loaded jackets… but even he couldn’t finish our sweet creation! 😂

The crowd went MAD — and what an opportunity this was for Shield & Skillet and everyone at Blyth Spartans. A huge thank you to Kyle V Food for coming down and getting involved. 💚

And then Croft Park got to ROAR all over again… ⚽️

In an absolute DOWNPOUR under the lights, the lads battled it out against Newcastle Blue Star and came away with a brilliant…

💚 3–2 BLYTH SPARTANS WIN! 💚

What. A. Night.

A huge shoutout to our Shield & Skillet staff who worked incredibly hard setting up, planning, prepping and feeding all the foodies before turning straight around to feed the football crowd. 👏

TEAM SHIELD & SKILLET.
TEAM BLYTH SPARTANS. 💚

It’s not just about the fantastic football. We LOVE seeing more and more people supporting Shield & Skillet, the clubhouse and all the events happening at Croft Park.

The only way we keep growing is with YOUR support — and last night you absolutely showed up. 💚 more photos to follow

HOWAY BLYTH! ⚔️

Now then…

🥔 WHO’S COMING BACK FOR ONE OF OUR GIANT SPARTANS SPUDS ON SUNDAY?! 👀😂 AND IS ANYONE BRAVE ENOUGH TO TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE

Clubhouse open from 12.30pm, come on down, enjoy a pint and support the lasses Blyth Spartans Women ⚽️🏆🍺

This Sunday is THE BIG ONE, Blyth Spartans Women v Chorley Women FC in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the Women's FA Cup!

Following wins against West Allotment and Morpeth Town in previous rounds, we are once again at Croft Park and will be hosting National League North (tier 4) side Chorley. On paper, a complete mismatch, but anyone who knows what Blyth Spartans are all about will know our club's proud history of taking on giants without any fear. Think Wrexham, Blackburn or Birmingham for the men's team, this is OUR time to defy the odds, stand toe to toe with a higher division team and give it our best shot!

This season has already seen plenty of drama and we have been blown away by the support the town of Blyth (and beyond) has given this team. We will always back ourselves, but having hundreds of passionate fans in the stands doing the same really helps take us to the next level, which we need more than ever this Sunday.

Kickoff is 2pm, Sunday the 4th of October at Croft Park, £2 entry and U16s go free. Come join us and lend us your voices. HOWAY BLYTH! 💚
