HWG! What a weekend we have for you lined up! And even better, we are OPEN TIL’ 1AM Friday & Saturday….

Friday: The beautiful Christeen MacMuride is back in the hoose from slightly later time of 9pm, with all your favourite tunes & cabaret.

Saturday: The handsome Barry is back on stage where he belongs, live from 8:30pm.

Don’t forget, we are open until 1am every Friday & Saturday until 2nd January.

So here it starts again, can anyone see an exact copy of 2020?! At least this time around we have had a “test run” on what to expect when they do lock us doon! So what are we doing to help?

• Asking all customers to wear face coverings when entering, moving around and exiting the venue. They are not required when dancing, sitting and/or drinking (obviously!)

• Wash hands regularly, especially after touching hard surfaces. We have reinstated hand sanitizer on every table in the venue and at the bar for the use of everyone. Please use it! Personal hygiene and all that jazz.

• Scan the QR Code on all entry doors, this will check you into the venue. Please do it, we can’t be bothered bringing back the book and shouting at everyone to sign in… we are adults after all.

• We clean every table and replenish all beer mats after every use. Please ensure you lift your personal belongings!

• We have a team of house keepers in every morning giving the venue a deep clean with all hard surfaces cleaned before opening and then cleaned throughout the day.

So, next… what happens if we do get locked doon?! Well, to be fair who knows! We will of course bring back the home delivery service; If South Lanarkshire Council permit it on our licence. Unfortunately the automatic right to deliver came to an end in September so we will need to hope they automatically put it back on our licence. We still have the full system for The West End Bar sitting dormant in the background and with a click of a button it can be active again. The teams in both venues would continue to be paid as normal, like we did last time, and will be supported 100% of the time. We will look out and call in to our older clientele to make sure they are ok and with a bit of luck come out of another lockdown with a business still viable…

BUT until then, we will continue to listen to the government, not the press as they just scaremonger, and continue with the hope that we can get a Festive trade this year and make it a year not to forget.

Info... (not relating to our venue, just for advice)

Over the past fortnight a dj was approached while working by a young girl and asked for the first time, "Is Angela working tonight?" - having read about the initiative He knew instantly what she was referencing, said yes, told her to jump in the DJ booth with him, (she was extremely nervous...) and in turn asked the nearest security guard the same question. Luckily, he too knew, and the young girl was escorted through the back of the venue and into an Uber immediately. Her "date" upon returning from the bathroom was asked to leave by management, he without delay turned violent and security stepped-in.
Basically, is a scheme in place (established in the UK) which aims at reducing sexual violence and vulnerability by providing women and men with a subtle phrase to assist getting them out of potentially dangerous and helpless situations. First-dates, Tinder-dates or frankly getting home alone after a night out can unfortunately (history-proven) be a risk. I urge all DJs, venues, those in hospitality/night-life to look into the concept and educate yourselves and your staff. It may seem extreme, but sometimes you may be someones only option,

❗️COVID UPDATE ❗️

Following today’s announcement by the First Minister, we are somewhat pleased to announce that there has been NO CHANGES to any of the mandatory rules set out in law regarding Covid-19.

One thing we are mega pleased to hear is that the First Minister has confirmed that Vaccination Passports will NOT be placed on all hospitality settings, which the media widely spread a story speculating it would happen, this means we do not need to do this. We are glad to hear that negative LFT results will be acceptable at doors to venues who are being forced to do vaccination passports, this is positive news to our fellow colleagues in other settings.

Face coverings and regular hand washing is still mandatory whilst in our venue. Your asked to wear a face covering when entering, moving around or exiting the venue. Please wash your hands regularly and use the hand sanitisers which have been placed on every table & both bars.

In summary; no changes to our operations, business as normal…
