We now move in to our final few days of opening, we are absolutely gutted but we intend to make the most of them! We will be going out with a bang, in Cellar fashion of course!! 💥

Huge thank you for all the messages of support since our announcement of closure. It’s been an absolute pleasure serving you all over the last few years. We really have had a blast working here! There’s been tears and tantrums, but we wouldn’t have it any other way! The stress was worth it for the good times we’ve had ✌️

Next Friday will be the last day that The Cellar is open in its current form, as the building will be going up for sale along with The Lion.

As the doors close on this chapter, it’s hard to put into words what this place has meant to us. Thank you to every member of staff past and present who gave it heart, soul, and countless late nights. Thank you to the customers who filled the room with laughter, stories, and loyalty, and to everyone who ever walked down those steps looking for a good night and found something more. And to the musicians who played here, thank you for the songs, the sweat, the magic, and the memories that still echo off the walls. To everyone who worked here, drank here, played here, or simply belonged here for a moment: you made the Cellar what it was. This place was never just a bar, it was a community. Once a Cellar regular, always a Cellar regular 🫶🏻

Just as a little footnote, we’ve always tried our best to promote events, bands, and everything else, and we’ve always banged on about supporting local. At the end of the day, it really is as simple as “use it or lose it.” So whatever happens with these two buildings and businesses, please show your support and get behind them. People are always saying there’s nothing in town, but businesses can’t run without support.
