This weekend's senior fixtures for the Wood 🪵 🪵

It's a double header this weekend for the Wood, as Blackwood Firsts are away in league action to take on our neighbours, Ynysddu RFC, at Ynysddu in a 2:30 kick-off 🔴 ⚫ 🟡

Also, we have Blackwood Griffins taking on Ynysddu Rats at Glan Yr Afon Park in a 2:30 kick-off in the SGM Waste Management Athletic League 🔴 ⚫ 🟡

It's that time of year again

🎄 BLACKWOOD RFC CHRISTMAS APPEAL 2026 🎄

It’s that time of year again! 💛
We’re asking our amazing players, members, supporters and the wider community to come together and help make Christmas special for children who have no family and may otherwise have nothing this festive season.

We’re collecting gift bags and hampers filled with age-appropriate items such as:
🎁 Chocolate • Colouring books • Crayons • Toys • Socks • Hats • Gloves • Scarves • Smellies • Face masks • Bath bombs • Mugs • Drink bottles (non-alcoholic) • Selection boxes • And more!

Cash donations are welcome as we will purchase age appropriate gifts with any money donated.

Each donation can include a Christmas card saying it’s from your family or from Blackwood RFC.
👉 Please don’t wrap gifts — all items will be checked before being handed out.

🕒 Drop-off times at Blackwood RFC:
Tuesday – 7pm–9pm
Thursday – 7pm–9pm
Friday – 7pm–9pm
Saturday – 12 noon–9pm
Sunday – 12 noon–9pm

When donating, please hand items to a member of staff or a committee member and mention they’re for the Christmas Appeal.

🎅 All donations must be received by Sunday 6th December 2026.

""Blackwood RFC wish to express its sadness at the recent death of Brian Rees. Brian was a past club member, Youth Team Manager and a loyal supporter of the Club . He was a gentleman and true character who will be sorely missed. The Club would like to offer its condolences to his wife Suzanne, daughter Jo and family”.

Sunday the 20th at the club all for a fantastic cause..

PARTY TIME

To celebrate the end of the challenge, we're throwing a party in Teddy's honour!

The party will start at 5pm on Sunday 20th September at Blackwood Rugby Club News, whilst our challengers just over the road at Unique Health And Fitness enter their 24th and final hour of their journey to Rome.

Help us support and cheer on our Challengers through this final leg of the journey and make it a weekend to remember for everyone involved!

Family fun - for everyone! With the amazing support of Memories-and More here is some of what we have in store for you:

There will also be popcorn, slush puppies and Childrens tattoos available!
