Tonight we celebrate everything that Stu and Rachael have done for us. I refuse to say goodbye, this is not goodbye, this is 'until we see each other again'. Between them Stuart and Rach have built the greatest pub in Blackpool but even that doesn't do them justice. They have welcomed us into their family and created a home for us when we needed one.

The Marshall-Rushton Clan are the best people anyone could wish to meet and I have no idea what I am going to do other than eagerly count the days until the re-open.

But above all I truly hope that they know that it's not Gillespies - Blackpool who have my loyalty. It is them. It is their family and no matter what I will be there for them. They are the finest individuals anyone could hope to meet and Gillespies, Blackpool, our lives wouldn't be the same without you guys.

For those of you who don't know we are closing the doors for a few weeks, the lease is changing hands (again) myself and Rachael Rushton will still be managing once we reopen, there's big plans for late 2017 early 2018 so please come and pop your head in and say goodbye for now

All drinks £2 all day - all stock must go

We will be back once we've recharged, deals are negotiated and had a damn good clean up

Gillespies are holding an August bank holiday spectacular music festival for all, we need bands, singers, solo artists, comedians, magicians and all things in between.

Downstairs will be live music, with upstairs full of DJ's

Dates are as follows....

Friday 25th 7pm-12am
Saturday 26th 12pm-12am
(Headlined by Don't panic)
Sunday 12pm-12am
Monday 3pm-9pm
