Some heroes wear capes. Some heroes insist on wearing them all day.

Long before Spider-Man: Brand New Day hit the big screen, the Brown family cinematic universe was already well underway. This was Noah’s fifth birthday, with Ella faithfully by his side, both proudly representing Spider-Man before Marvel had even thought about its next reboot.

Fast forward to today and, somehow, not much has changed. Noah and I are off to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The costumes may have stayed in the wardrobe (mostly), but the excitement is exactly the same.

Turns out our family’s relationship with Spider-Man isn’t just a fandom, it’s a long-running franchise.

Tuesday has officially found its flavour.

Every Tuesday, Chef Liam brings Kyoudai Ramen to Temper & Brown, serving up steaming bowls of rich, soul-warming goodness. Expect deeply flavoured broths, perfectly cooked noodles and toppings that deserve their own fan club. It’s the kind of ramen that makes you wonder why you ever settled for the instant stuff.

Whether you’re escaping the office, catching up with friends or simply on the hunt for one of Birmingham’s best bowls of ramen, Tuesday nights at Temper & Brown are where you need to be. Come hungry… and don’t be surprised if Kyoudai Ramen becomes the highlight of your week.

Well… there were only two people smiling at the final whistle and they’d come all the way from Buenos Aires just to gloat. Fair play… we suppose.

Let’s be honest. After we scored, we sat far too deep, invited the pressure, and somehow managed to make it look as though Argentina had a couple of extra players on the pitch. You could almost feel what was coming.

At half-time we did our bit, serving up heroic jam doughnuts in the hope that some of that glorious jammy luck would somehow transfer to the lads. Sadly, the only thing they were filled with was disappointment.

Still, that’s football. One minute you’re dreaming, the next you’re wondering where it all went wrong. Thanks to everyone who packed out the bar, sang their hearts out, and believed right until the end.

There’s always the next tournament… and we’ll have the doughnuts ready.

🌍⚽ Temper & Brown is officially World Cup ready! ⚽🌍

With the World Cup kicking off this Thursday, we’ve gone full football nerd and transformed our team into a set of Panini-style World Cup stickers.

Representing the nations of the world are:

🇨🇦 Noah – Canada
🏴 Summer – England
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Trixie – Scotland
🇺🇸 Roifield – USA

And then there’s…

🇯🇲 Warren – Jamaica.

Yes, we know Jamaica didn’t actually qualify for this World Cup, but Warren looks so good in yellow that we decided not to let facts get in the way of a strong squad selection.

The stickers are done, the TVs are ready, the beers are chilled, and the football fever has officially arrived.

Football’s coming home… well, at least to Temper and Brown tonight.

Join us in the garden or grab a seat in the snug as the Lionesses take on Spain. Expect drama, passion, questionable refereeing decisions, and hopefully plenty to cheer about from England’s finest.

Think of it as the warm-up act before we roll out full World Cup coverage at Temper and Brown, complete with our big-screen garden viewing experience.

And because it’s Friday, cocktails are 2-for-1 all evening. Football, sunshine, cocktails and England. That’s not a bad way to start the weekend.

Tomorrow night, we’re bringing the laughs.

Comedy kicks off at 7:30 with a cracking lineup: Ryan Lewis, Karen Bayley, all held together by your host James Cook.

And because we like to keep things interesting, the comedy is completely free. Just turn up, grab a drink, and enjoy the show.

Speaking of drinks, we’ve got one mission. Finish the keg. So for tomorrow only, Modelo beer is going at £4 a pint. Crisp, clean, easy-drinking Mexican lager with a light citrus bite.

And because it’s Tuesday, it’s also Ramen Tuesday. Chefs Liam and Ryan are back behind the burners, serving up bowls of that Japanese staple. Deep, rich, and guaranteed to sort your soul out better than any self-help book.
