Arms folded. Hat perfectly positioned. Quietly serving “too cool for school” without appearing to make the slightest effort.

A huge garland and a very special award go to this wonderful couple, who are quite possibly our most loyal Sunday roast customers! Week after week, they bring their smiles, warmth and good vibes—and we absolutely love welcoming them.

Two months into married life and already the maiden name is causing marital drama! 😂

When Roifield greeted this lovely couple at The Bar, the wife confirmed the booking under her maiden name.

Her new husband immediately asked, “Why are you using that name? That’s not your name anymore!”

One sheepish look and an admission that she’d completely forgotten later, peace talks began over dinner. Thankfully, the food worked its magic, marital harmony was restored, and she promised never to make the same mistake again.

Nothing says newlywed bliss quite like good food, animated negotiations and remembering your new surname! ❤️

Hey folks! A little invite for you…

On Saturday 12 September, we’ve got the brilliant DJ Femi Fem playing at The Bar. Femi was one of the founding members of Young Disciples, the band behind the absolute classic “Apparently Nothin’.”

He’ll be taking over from 9pm, playing cool, smooth classic soul vibes with a touch of classic hip-hop thrown in for good measure.

This is very much a big people vibes party — great tunes, good drinks, no nonsense and hopefully some questionable dancing from people who really should know better by now. 😂

A bit of Blues royalty walked into Temper & Brown yesterday. 💙⚽️

My boyhood Birmingham City goalkeeper Dave Latchford came in with his family to watch his niece perform live at The Bar.

Now, it’s getting on for 50 years since Dave was between the sticks for the Blues, but was he instantly recognisable?

Absolutely.

And did I behave like a mature, professional bar owner?

Absolutely not. 😂

Yes, I fanboyed. And yes, I made him pose for a photo next to a picture of his brother, fellow Blues legend Bob Latchford.

Some heroes you just never forget.
