Sunday opera within the historic walls of Suki10c.
If you're not yet aware, Suki10c was built in 1786 as a public house, originally named The Dog, serving the navvies building the canal system.
In the 1700s and 1800s there were many public inquests held in the bar of The Dog, where a Circuit Judge would hear the circumstances of deaths that had happened in the area. There are documented historical records of these public inquests happening.
After meeting with to discuss the Open For Business walking opera, the producers decided that they would create a storyline to encompass the public inquest aspect of the building's history.
It was emotionally charged and really could not have been a more appropriate performance.
We are grateful to have been involved.
