Calling all Customers
We wouldn’t normally post about politics on our FB page, but this issue is just too big for us to ignore.
In the recent budget Rachel Reeves stood up and said she was reducing business rates for all pubs, small shops and café’s, in a bid to save our high street.
This is not the reality.
On the very same day new rateable values were published showing that the average pub will see it’s rateable value increase by an average of 76% over the next three years and hotels will increase on average by 110%. In comparison Amazon warehouses will rise by less than 7% and supermarkets by around 4%.
This is not fair. Pubs are being taxed into extinction.
Along with an increase in alcohol duty and further increases to the minimum wage (which we support) further price rises will be inevitable, and if these increases are forced through parliament then it could mean the end for so many of our great British pubs.
We are asking for all our customers to click on the link below and to write to their MP using the information provided. It is a 2 minute job. We must show our politicians that the Great British Pub will not be taxed into submission, and that they must listen to their constituents.
