The Thatched Inn The Thatched Inn is a traditional historic pub situated just outside of Bideford in the small village of Abbotsham.

As its name suggest the 15th century stone building has a thatched roof and was originally 3 stone cottages before being converted into a public house. The interior of this ancient inn is equally charming and full of character as many of the buildings original features remain. In the recently refurbished Bar and Restaurants gleaming brassware hangs from the walls and exposed beams to further compl

iment the atmosphere. Not surprisingly, a place this old, steeped in history also has a resident ghost; a former customer who use to meet his loved one at The Thatched Inn! The Thatched Inn has a well deserved reputation for excellent home cooked food at reasonable prices.

As you all know, our wonderful landlord has a well‑documented hobby: spending money on the pub.
This time, the bar is getting the love.

On Monday 11th May, we’ll be unable to serve any draught products while the bar fonts undergo their glow‑up.
We are open, but the taps will be taking a short, enforced holiday.

We’re hoping the disruption will be limited to Monday lunchtime, and we’ll keep you updated if anything changes.

Keep your eyes peeled — some shiny new products will be making their debut next week.
