Morning all from a bright and fresh Spittal Beach and we are open for all of our menu to sit in or takeaway including our homemade and freshly baked sweet and savoury treats (new today is raspberry and white chocolate brownies 😋) breakfast/brunch/lunch and Barista coffee plus 12 different breakfast and specialist teas. Always something fresh and new, open until 3 and we are dog friendly.

Despite a rainy start to the day, the Promenade Cafe Bar offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, featuring our freshly baked gluten-free lemon drizzle that is simply delightful. In addition to this treat, you can enjoy a selection of quiche pies, scones, cookies, and sausage rolls, all made this morning. The cafe is open until 3 PM and welcomes dogs, making it a perfect spot for both you and your furry companions.

What a splendid day to enjoy the beach or take a leisurely walk along the promenade. Today, we have freshly made cheesecakes available in delightful flavors such as apple and cinnamon, Banoffee, and rich chocolate, complemented by our Biscoff millionaire slice. In addition to these treats, we offer a variety of freshly baked scones, cookies, cakes, tray bakes, flapjacks, croissants, and tea cakes. Our full menu features savory options including pies, sausage rolls, panini, bagels, sandwiches, ciabatta, quiche, baked potatoes, and tomato soup, along with ice cream and a selection of hot, cold, and alcoholic beverages for both dine-in and takeaway. We also welcome dogs, making it a perfect outing for all.

Hi all, in addition to our range of teas hot chocolates, Barista Coffee, beer, larger, wines and cider we have vanilla or strawberry iced matcha, caramel, vanilla, hazelnut, brown sugar, maple & sea salt or cinnamon iced latte. Chai latte. Very berry or passion fruit smoothies and strawberry, chocolate, vanilla milkshakes. A wide variety of cold soft drinks and ice creams. 🤩 open 7 days and we are dog friendly

Did you know...

For over 150 years, holidaymakers have been visiting Spittal. From the Scottish Borders to Northumberland, and as a far away as London and Ireland, families travelled to Spittal Beach to enjoy the sunshine and entertainments, which included live music, dancing, putting, tennis, hot baths, an outdoor pool and Pierrot clowns!

From 1861, the local newspaper, The Berwick Advertiser, printed the names of those who had travelled to Spittal on holiday. The paper noted where the visitors had come from, who they had travelled with and where they were staying. Some of those who visited Spittal in July 1861 were:

- Miss Hutton from Hawick, staying at Ewart House
- Mrs Macdonald, from London, staying at Mr Morton's
- Reverend M'Laren, from Ancroft Moor, staying at Spa Terrace
- Major Walker, from Kelso, staying at Tyneside Cottage
- Miss Smith, from Newcastle, staying at the Post Office

The Berwick Record Office, thanks to the efforts of one of their volunteers, has a full record of all those holidaymakers listed in The Berwick Advertiser.

We are excited to introduce our new quiche flavor: Leek & Stilton, which joins our existing offerings of cheddar & tomato, cheddar ham & tomato, cheddar & ham, and cheddar & bacon. Our quiche is served with a side of salad and coleslaw. Our entire menu is available for both sit-in and takeaway, and our iced coffee is particularly popular in this warm weather. We are open until 3 PM today and welcome dogs and well behaved owners 😜
