Hello all. Hope you’re all enjoying the so called heatwave and are remaining well lubricated.

This week,in the Basement:

Thursday,28th,sees the return of our monthly Quiz Night,with your affable host,Zeph.
Usual rules apply,£2 per player,no more than 5 in a team.

Saturday,30th,brings the return after a six month hiatus,of that well known,local,young persons guitar combo,The Blame. The lads will be rocking the Basement from 9 o’clock,along with a man who still spin’s pieces of hard plastic,you’re very own Mr P.
Expecting this to be a busy one,so get along nice and early. Entry is FREE!

Hope to see you all in the near future,in the meantime,enjoy the weather and,most importantly,keep hydrated!

Hello all. Hope you’re all doing well.
Apologies for the late post,but,anyways,here’s what happening this coming weekend in the basement.
This Saturday we have something a little special. Ben Reel is over from Ireland for a short tour of the North East. After sharing stages and working with the likes of The Cranberries and Jools Holland,Ben sure knows how to put on a good show with his blend of blues,soul and folk.
Doors 8:30,with music from 9:00.

Then,on Sunday,from 7:00,our friends the Tweed River Jazz Band are back with their signature style of New Orleans jazz. Get your dancing shoes on for this!

Both shows are free to enter,so come along and join us here at Barrels.

Hello,everyone. Hope this run of fine weather is making everyone feel peachy.
Just a reminder that as Friday is the 1st of May (who’d have thunk it!),that means it’s our Open Mic and Jam Night here in the basement,with your host,Mr Iain Petrie.
8pm start,all styles and abilities welcome.

Note,please,no film night this Sunday. That will be on Sunday 17th,more on that to follow.

This week in the basement:
On Friday,it’s our monthly Open Mic and Jam Night,presented by Mr Iain Petrie.
All abilities welcome,just bring along an instrument and play. From 8PM tlill late.
On Sunday,it’s movie night. This month,Winona Ryder stars in the Jim Jarmusch film,One Night. 5 taxis,5 city’s,1 night. Spaces are limited and booking is highly recommended.7PM start for this.

Hello,folks,hope all is good. Couple of events in the basement this week.
First up on Thursday,it’s Quiz Night,our monthly attempt to get your cranium into gear.
Zeph will be asking the questions,as usual,and the normal rules apply ( £2 per person, up to 5 in a team,winners take all).
7:30 start,be early!
Saturday night,we have the return of local four piece,SWEFN. Come along and enjoy some sweet grooves from 8:30 till late.

Hello all. Hope all is well with you. Couple of things this week,firstly it’s Quiz Night in the basement on Thursday. Dust off those brain cells and join Zeph for another brain teasing evening,£2 per person,up to 5 in a team,from 7:30.
On Sunday,it’s film night. Carey Mulligan stars in the Oscar winning Promising Young Woman.
7pm start for this one,free but with limited places left.

Hello,everyone,hope the weather isn’t making you too depressed. Just a reminder that our ever popular Open Mic Night is tomorrow night,Friday 13th. Get into the back of that cupboard,dust off that old ocarina and join Iain in the basement from 8 o’clock.
Also,don’t forget we will be showing the Six Nations games in the bar,Saturday and Sunday.
