A look back over the weekend…

While the vast majority of our guests were wonderful and we loved celebrating with you, we did experience some unacceptable behaviour.

Abuse towards staff, refusal to respect bar closing times, and behaviour that placed additional and unnecessary burden on our cleaning and bar staff will not be tolerated.

We are a small local business, and respect for our team is non-negotiable.

This post is not about naming any particular individual or group, but simply a reminder to all that this kind of behaviour will not happen again.

CLOSED WEEK OF 29 SEPTEMBER

After a wonderfully busy spring and summer 2025, we’ll be taking a short break at the end of this month.

Both the bar and restaurant will be closed the week of 29 September.

We will reopen on Wednesday, 8 October at 12 noon as usual, refreshed and ready to welcome you back.

Yesterday afternoon, we closed up for a small and intimate wedding supper - close family & friends, great food, flowing drinks and flowers from our very own cutting garden.

The rain came down, but inside it was all warmth, laughter and a truly lovely evening of wedding magic ✨
