The owners have retired and the pub is currently closed.

NO MORE FISHING !

It is with a very heavy heart that Andy and I are announcing our retirement and as such The Fisherman's Rest will close on Sunday February 18th for the foreseeable future.

It has been the most difficult decision and one we have not taken lightly. The costs of running the business are just so high now and the return on our time and investment is just too low; all the breweries are putting their prices up again in February yet again !

As some of you will also know, we have both been struggling with ill health and recent events have made us realise it is time to ‘live for today' and focus on our own health and happiness for once.

We are very grateful for the support we have received since coming back out of retirement...... for the second time! Thank you for your custom and we hope to see as many of you as possible over the coming fortnight.

We have made lots of friends and have so many great 'Fish' memories. We look forward to seeing you all socially in and around Belper. Our first priority is to book a holiday !!

SIX NATIONS IS HERE 😀😀🏈🏈

Six Nations Rugby starts this FRIDAY with what should be a great game FRANCE v IRELAND at 8.00pm - come and watch at The Fisherman's Rest and order your favourite pizza/Indian/Chinese/kebab to be delivered to eat at half time or after the game.

On SATURDAY we will be opening at 2.00pm for ITALY v ENGLAND with kick-off at 2.15pm. I'll have STEAK PIE & PEAS available for half time but PRE-ORDER ONLY

It's then WALES V SCOTLAND at 4.45pm and as always you are welcome to order a takeaway to eat in during or after the match.
