Folks!

It’s that time of year again: the NI Open 2025 is back. Thanks to our partner, the World Snooker Tour, we’re giving two people the chance to win tickets to the NI Open Finale. All paid club members will also be entered into a draw for a weekday all-day ticket.

Join us at Laverys on Monday 6th October for our pool tournament. Entry is £3 for paid members and £5 for non-members. Sign-ups open at 6:30pm and play begins at 7pm.

Folks!

The British Reigonal Tournament is now introducing an Irish region to the event, with Queens students now having the opportunity to play.

Trials will be hosted in Navan on November 24th. Trial entry fees is €15. If anyone is interested in entering, please let the committee know by messaging us or emailing us at [email protected] and we will foward you the form you need to fill out. The deadline for the form is the 10th November

Also, please keep in mind that the club IS NOT responsible for funding your entry for this. If you are wanting to go you will be responsible for your own fees.

BRT is very pleased to announce the introduction of an Irish region to the event, making it an all-British Isles affair and raising the number of regions to seven!
Details will follow on how this will alter the format of the event, as well as any other changes generally incoming this year.

~ BRT Irish Trials ~

Trials for the Ireland region are taking place on Sunday the 24th of November at J-Mac's Pool Club in Navan. Entry time is 11am and entry fee €15pp. The format is Swiss and international ruleset.

Individual club presidents/captains can compile lists of current student and alumni for entry and submit them to:

Alternatively, individual players can also enter directly by using the email above, as well as for any queries pertaining to the Irish Trials.

Join us on Monday, 28th October for a spooky night out! We'll be kicking things off at The Parlour at 6 PM before crawling our way through the pubs for a night of drinks, pool, and Halloween fun!

Costumes are highly encouraged, so dust off those spooky outfits and get ready for a wickedly fun night!

It is my pleasure to announce the QUB Snooker and Pool Club will be returning to Lavery's Belfast to host a Pool Tournament on Monday 14th October.

Registration will open at 6:30 p.m.

The draw will take place at 7:00pm, and no submissions will be accepted beyond that time.

For members, the admission fee is £3. Don't worry if you're not a member; the admission fee will be fixed at £5.

Folks!

Well, more specifically, Folks who are currently studying at QUB!

I am excited to inform you all that QUB Snooker and Pool Club will be entering the UPC Irish Intervarsities Pool Championships 2023-2024!

If you are currently studying at QUB and would like to represent the university and compete with other skilled players across the island, then please head down to our trials night.

TRIALS WILL BE HELD AT Lavery's Belfast ON MONDAY 7TH OCTOBER FROM 6:30PM(ish) ONWARDS.

The tournament will be held on the 14th-16th of February 2024 at the Antrim Sports Club, Antrim, Northern Ireland. Entry fees are £35 per player and anyone wishing to trial for the team will be required to put a £20 cash deposit down. This deposit will be returned in you are not selected for the team Please keep these in mind before attending the trials night!

Depending on the amount of interest, we might be able to send both a first team and a second team to this tournament. This means there would be plenty of opportunity to be a part of the competition side of the club and represent QUB at university level (if that's what you're into, of course).

This tournament is NOT a men-only tournament. I encourage everyone who fancies it to come down and have a go at making the teams. You just might surprise yourself.

Folks!

We're excited to announce that we’ll be hosting a Pool Competition at Laverys Belfast's Freshers Festival on Thursday, 26th September! Whether you're a seasoned player or just fancy a casual game, everyone is welcome to join in on the fun.

Sign-ups start at 4:30pm, with the competition kicking off at 5pm. Entry is FREE, so there's no excuse not to give it a shot!

Alongside the pool competition, you’ll have the chance to meet other clubs & societies, enjoy amazing food & drinks, try your hand at chess and shuffleboard and take part in DJ classes

Come along for a great evening of pool, food drinks, events and a chance to meet fellow club members
