🚨 Songbook - The Grand Finale - April 2nd 🚨
Friends, it is with the heaviest of hearts that I must announce that Songbook is coming to an end 💔
*probably quite self indulgent incoming post alert - apologies in advance*
It has been an indescribable pleasure these past (I think) 6 years to put on Songbook every month. What started as a bit of a fantasy born out of a desire to play some music with my friends every month grew into something far bigger and more amazing than I could have ever hoped for.
To the band members over the years, and to Adam Bell on sound, I would like to say the biggest of thank yous. Their professionalism and talent are what made Songbook possible. They are absolute superstars and it was an honour to share a stage with them all every month. They did the hard work and made the shows what they were and without them there would have been no show.
To the artists that played - it was a pleasure to hear you all and get to know you. I always thought the, “do you want to play Songbook?” pitch must have sounded insane if you hadn’t heard of it before, so thanks for trusting us with your songs.
To everyone who helped along the way; Ciaran McNally, Michael Murray, Ron England, the staff and management of the Ulster Sports Club, Lee Cutler & Forestside for sponsoring us for so long and the staff of our original home, The Marcus Ward - I really appreciate everything.
Seeing people turn up every month to come check out local songwriters and being in a position to facilitate that has been an honour. Thank you so much to everyone that ever turned up.
We’re gonna do one more show on April 2nd to send it off.
