This one hurts….
To all of our customers, friends, and supporters.
As many of you will already have heard, as news travels fast in a small town! The Travs has now been sold. Sadly. Not us despite our best efforts.
It has been taken over by a local businessman who will be bringing in their own team to lease and run the premises.
With that, we’ll be stepping away from the business and handing over the reins. While this isn’t the outcome we’d hoped for, it’s unfortunately out of our hands. Our final day of trading will be Thursday, May 7th.
We’re pleased to say the Travs will continue as a pub, and we truly hope it remains the special place it has been for so many years.
On a personal note, we’ve both spent the last 22 years working at the pub, and for the past two and a half years, we’ve had the privilege of running it ourselves after the previous landlord retired. What an incredible time it’s been. We had big shoes to fill, but we gave it everything we had and we did alright !
None of this would have been possible without you our amazing customers. Your support has meant the world to us and has kept the Travs thriving. The same goes for our fantastic staff, many of whom stayed with us throughout this journey. We’re so grateful for each and every one of you.
We have a week to go so come and join us for a drink, especially next Thursday to finish in style as we celebrate the end of our era.
This isn’t goodbye, just a “see you soon” as we look to move on to new adventures within the town. (Keep your eyes peeled 👀😉)
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the memories, the laughter, and most of all the tremendous love and support we’ve all received.
For now,
Lots of love,
John & Nicki
UTT 💙
