Congratulations to Aureja, the brewer behind Sparky’s Treat, on her well-deserved Rising Star award!

A huge congratulations to Aureja Jupp from Pixie Brewing, who has won the Rising Star Award at this year’s Women In B**r UK Awards! 👏🏆

A passionate and talented brewer, Aureja's journey into the industry began with a Level 4 Brewer apprenticeship, before going on to win our 2023 UnTapped Brewer of the Year competition.

Since then, Aureja has continued to make her mark on the industry, co-founding Pixie Brewing in 2024 alongside Simon Jupp. Based in Cambridgeshire, the farm-based nanobrewery is another exciting milestone in her brewing career.

The Women in B**r Awards celebrate the incredible contributions of women across the brewing industry, shining a spotlight on their achievements, championing greater representation and inspiring the next generation of female brewing talent.

Well done, Aureja! A thoroughly deserved award, and we can't wait to see what you achieve next!

Sparky just wanted to let you know that we’ve made it into the Good B**r Guide - the definitive guide to the very best pubs the UK has to offer!

A huge thank you to all the real ale drinkers who have supported us, rated us, and appreciated the good b**r we serve.

Since the day we opened, our aim has always been simple: to serve b**r in excellent condition, delivering the best pint you can get.

We’re incredibly proud to be recognised, and we’ll continue doing what we love - serving great b**r and making sure every pint is one to remember.

It has been an incredible year, and I’m so pleased to see our community and regular customer base constantly growing. Thank you to everyone who appreciates good-quality b**r, great service, and the fantastic atmosphere we’ve created together.

A special thank you to Tim, Henry, and Andrea for all your support throughout this past year. We truly appreciate everything you’ve done for us.

A huge shout-out to Danny Barton and Sarah Ellen for their incredible performance on the day - you were fantastic! 🎶

The Hidden Barrel Turns 1! 🎉

We first opened our doors on 19th July 2025, and it has been an incredible year! Thank you to everyone who has supported us and helped make The Hidden Barrel such a special place. We’ve shared so many great memories, stories, and laughs together.

As our anniversary falls on the second day of the Bedford River Festival, which is also a Sunday and not the most convenient day for many of our customers, we’ve decided to celebrate a little earlier!

Join us on Friday 17th July for a special anniversary celebration. We’ll be cutting the birthday cake at 7:00pm, followed by live music from the Sarah Ellen & Danny Barton Duo from 8:00pm.

Let’s raise a glass together and celebrate our first birthday. We can’t wait to see you all! 🍻❤️
