Dear Members,

Re: Membership Forms Monday 22nd October

Those of you that attended the Membership Form collection evening on Monday will know that the club was extremely busy and the demand far outweighed what the committee and I expected.

Due to this high demand, it was decided on the night to limit the forms to one per existing member. All forms have been collected and there will be no more forms available.

Interviews will begin during the week commencing Monday November 5th 2018. Applicants' names and interview dates will be posted in the club in accordance with Rule 5 and they will be invited for interview in due course by the club Secretary.

The committee would like to thank all members that attended, for their patience and understanding and also extend their gratitude to Barry, Sandra and Derek for their hard work behind the bar on what was the busiest night for some while.

Also, can I take this opportunity to thank the committee who turned up on the night to help, without them giving up their evening we wouldn’t have been able to manage the evening in the way that we did.

RE-OPENING OF MEMBERSHIP

Dear Members,

It was agreed at the committee meeting on Monday 8th October that membership will re-open.

We will be taking up to 60 applicants.

The process for this will be as follows;

Application forms will be available from the Club Secretary from Monday 22nd October from 7:30pm onwards in the club lounge, these can only be collected by the proposer, we are limiting the number of people a proposer can nominate to two, if two forms are taken, that proposer must propose two candidates, all forms issued will be recorded by the Secretary and will be issued on a first come first served basis.

After Monday 22nd October, the forms will be available from the bar staff and will again be recorded.

All forms must be returned to the secretary by Wednesday 31st October by closing time there will be no extension to this.

We are following Rule 5 which states that:

5. NOMINATION FOR MEMBERSHIP.
Every person wishing to become a member shall be proposed and seconded by two members with a minimum of one year’s membership both of whom shall sign the nomination form as well as the candidate. The nomination form shall be delivered to the Secretary who shall then post it on the Club notice board for at least seven days before his name is to be submitted for election. In the event of his being elected as a member he shall pay the joining fee and the subscription and by doing so pledge himself to abide by the rules of the club. The subscription shall be halved where membership is taken up on or after Ist October, and the joining fee shall be halved for applicants under 18 years of age.

All application forms are being issued in paper no other form will be accepted.

All applicants will be invited for interview week commencing 19th November.

The applicant will need to ensure that they inform the secretary if they can’t make the interview and also ensure that at least either the proposer or seconder is also available for their interview. Failure to comply with either of these may result in their request for membership being rejected.
