‘‘The owners of The White Lion Inn have asked that I convey that their overriding objective is to ensure the premises continues to function as a pub and, with that in mind, they are looking at ways that this may be achieved in the short and medium term whilst accepting regrettably that the pub will likely have to close for a period so that necessary repair works can be carried out’

To all of our lovely customers at the white lion.

We can finally share an update regarding the pub, we know you have all been waiting anxiously - as have we.

As you know, Marstons are handing the pub back to the owners after 20 years of tenancy.
To allow this handover to happen, we will need to close the pub from the 18th September.

As a result, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we will be running some fantastic offers to thank you all for the support you have shown us.

Over the last 6 months myself and Paul have thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Lion, we’ve met many amazing and interesting people - many of whom we now have the pleasure to call our friends.

We’ve managed to achieve a lot in this short time too! We feel very proud to have raised money for different charities, supported local businesses, and hosted a range of events, including live music and theme nights.

During this time we’ve seen lots of new faces, and we’ve even seen a lot of old faces return - which has been amazing to see. It really has been a pleasure to have had this opportunity and to have been able to keep this beautiful, iconic pub open.

We thank you all for your support over the last 6 months. We hope to see you over the rest of this week, and please do join us this weekend for some fab offers.

Please note the change to our food times whilst we have our relief chef in place

Starting this week the 7th august
Weds-Friday 12-3pm food times only with a limited lunchtime menu option

This means no kitchen open on weekends starting this week commencing the 7th Aug 2023

This will also mean our fortnightly pie night on the 22nd august will not be on

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause we have tried our best to minimise any inconvenience where possible but unfortunately holidays and staff shortages are always inevitable

Pub will remain open as usual
Mon 4pm onwards
Tues-sun 12 onwards
