Hi Everyone,
This brave young lady is Emily. I don’t personally know her or her family, but like so many kind-hearted people across Barrow, I have been deeply moved by her incredible courage and determination as she battles Leukaemia.
Many of you know that I live with Prostate Cancer myself, and I can tell you honestly that no matter how hard you try to stay positive and keep going, cancer changes lives in ways that are difficult to put into words. I count myself as one of the fortunate ones — despite some difficult side effects, my condition is well managed, thanks in no small part to the care, support, and compassion shown to me by the Rosemere Cancer Foundation in Preston.
That is why I wanted to publicly support and share this fundraising campaign for Emily and her family, alongside the wonderfully kind Tammy Robinson, whose generosity and big heart have helped bring this together.
On behalf of GK and The Vic, I have pledged to donate two gift cards for the fundraising event, and I would be incredibly grateful if anyone reading this felt able to contribute in any way, no matter how small.
We all know times are difficult right now. But if there is one thing that has always made Barrow special, it is the strength, compassion, and community spirit of its people. When someone needs help, we come together — because we care.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any support you may be able to give Emily that helps to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House in Manchester to help keep the family together during this time.
Thanks All,
Wil.
