The Castle Inn’s August Bank Holiday Minifest is back — and we’re searching for the most entertaining acts North Devon has to offer!

We’re inviting singers, bands, comedians, and entertainers of every kind to take the stage on Saturday 29th August.
Each act will get a 20–30 minute slot, and we’ll provide the full sound system — you just bring your talent and your crowd‑pleasing energy!

💰 £200 prize for the best act

🍻 14 Years of The Castle Inn – Thank You, Truly 🍻

On the 12th of May, Sharron and I celebrate 14 years at The Castle Inn.
Fourteen years of running a pub that has seen just about everything life can throw at it — and at us.

We’ve had the good times, the tough times, and the “only at The Castle” times.

We survived Covid together with door‑to‑door dinners, community spirit, and an online disco that Facebook banned more often than we’d like to admit. Apparently we were too entertaining.

In these walls we’ve seen births, losses, marriages, friendships, reunions, and enough stories to fill a book (a book we absolutely cannot publish for legal reasons).

But through it all — every high, every low — you have kept this place alive.
Your support, loyalty, laughter, and love for this pub mean more than we can ever say.

And to our incredible staff, past and present: thank you. You’ve given this place your energy, your care, and your commitment. You’re a huge part of why The Castle Inn is what it is today.

This Sunday, 5th April at 11:30am, the Easter Bunny is bringing a basketful of fun to Landkey!

🎉 Kids under 10 can join the Village Easter Egg Hunt across the Millennium Green and The Castle Inn’s garden. The Bunny’s hidden eggs are waiting to be found — but remember, it’s one egg per child to keep the magic fair!

🪺 Find an egg → Bring it to the Bunny → Swap it for a chocolatey Easter treat!

✨ Pastel colours, springtime smiles, and a whole lot of joy — don’t miss this egg-cellent adventure!

✨ Two hours to go… and I couldn’t be prouder. ✨

Tonight, Sharon will be braving the shave for Macmillan, and she’s already raised over £1,000. That alone says everything about her courage, her kindness, and the incredible community around her.

I want her—and all of you—to know just how deeply proud I am of what she’s doing. This isn’t just a haircut. It’s hope. It’s strength. It’s standing up for people who need it most.

I’m going to attempt a Facebook Live when the moment comes (wish me luck), so if you can’t be here in person, please jump onto the live feed. Like it, share it, leave a message of support… or donate a pound or two if you can. Every gesture, every word, every share will mean the world to her.
