We have now sold out of our Halloween tickets.

Any late ticket requests I can’t guarantee a pumpkin as I’ve just been on our last pumpkin run. I have bought extra but once they are gone; they are gone.

You are more than welcome to bring your own to carve / decorate.

Those who have tickets will have a voucher in their goody bags to collect a pumpkin.

There will be plenty of crafts, colouring & obviously a disco.

I just ask parents to please supervise whilst on activities to ensure resources aren’t being wasted and everyone can have a go.

The Reds are through to the next round of the Hospital Cup.

Monk Bretton are through to the next round of the Hospital Cup after a brilliant 3-1 victory over Premier League leaders Caulfield Birdwell Rovers at Wombwell Main this morning.

The lads knew they were in for a tough test against a side flying high at the top of the Premier League, and horrendous conditions made the challenge even greater. With the wind firmly against us in the first half, we found ourselves 1-0 down inside the opening five minutes.

It would have been easy for heads to drop, but the lads responded brilliantly. We got ourselves together, battled our way back into the game and started to create opportunities of our own.
That persistence paid off before the break. Brandon Glaves played a brilliant pass through to Dion Travis, who helped create the opening for Emerson Gibbs to find the back of the net and bring us level at 1-1 going into half-time.

With the wind now on our side in the second half, we knew the problems we could cause if we kept the pressure on. The lads continued to battle for absolutely everything and, as the game entered its closing stages, we finally got our reward. Substitute Jude Fitzgerald made an instant impact, reacting quickest following a scramble inside the Caulfield box to force the ball home and put the Reds 2-1 ahead late in the game. We weren’t finished there.

Bretton continued to push forward rather than sitting on the lead, and another brilliant contribution from the bench helped put the game beyond doubt. Fitzgerald turned provider this time, squaring the ball across goal for fellow substitute Alfy Woodward, who made no mistake to make it 3-1 and seal our place in the next round with his first goal for the club.

From there, the lads saw the game out brilliantly to complete an unreal result against the Premier League leaders.

An absolutely outstanding performance from every man today. In horrible conditions, the lads worked tirelessly, battled for every single ball and showed exactly what this group is about. To go behind early, respond the way we did and come away with a 3-1 win against a quality side says everything about the character in this team.

An excellent performance from Dion at RWB. He worked tirelessly from the first whistle to the last, showed real quality and confidence on the ball and produced some brilliant passes and decision-making throughout the game. A top performance and fully deserving of the Man of the Match award. 👏🏻
