🖤 Thank you and Goodbye 🖤

When I came to Bacup my life was a little upside down and I threw myself into what I know and decided to bring something cool to the town I was spending my time in.

Fast forward 18+ months and the world is a totally different place for me personally and professionally and with my first baby daughter due in a couple of months I decided that I want to be around for her and not have so many antisocial hours and nights working.

Those of our regulars and others in the industry we get along with so well have known that I have been running the business whilst working away and running a business that I was previously doing/involved with and it's been hard to manage both sides whilst finding family time too.

So this isn't a post about the current cost of living crisis, or state of the industry it's more about personal choice

There's a head and a heart scenario and as much as I love the place and love the vibe we brought. The business needs someone's attention and for it to be full time. I also felt a commitment to my team who have been brilliant since day 1 and so had been in talks with 3 or 4 different sets of people about taking over but with the risk this involves to new start up in this environment non have materialised.

So again many have known but with station brew closing then our break in, I felt the need more so to be open but there are so many more factors at play and I know I'm at the stage where I need to invest and start to revive the place (starting with the toilet lol) but honestly my heart isn't in it when I know I see my new blended family thriving when I'm around I want to take that blessed opportunity and take some time out.

From tribute nights, medium events, birthday celebrations, comedy nights, drag shows and baby showers, a lovely christmas period and everything in-between it's been a pleasure to be involved in Bacup. It's a great town and little more investment would go a long way.

Last of all thank you to all the team past and present for their involvment and help over the last 18 months or so 👌🏼

🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US 🎉

When pictures can say a thousand words, difficult times in an industry that’s been affected more than most these past few years. But what a way to celebrate 🫶🏼

When we started out they said it wouldn’t work. 18 months in from taking on a building with no lighting, electric or water we’re very proud of what we’ve achieved and thankful for the community support. We’ve put some great nights on with diversity and challenged the status quo….

A business is nothing without a community and what customers we have! Nobody knows what the future holds but thank you for each and every one of you that comes out and makes it all worth while. We have the best people 👏🏼

Finally a big thank you to our team who go above and beyond and work to make these nights possible and care so much. They are everything Prohibition stands for 💖

With life passing us by so fast it completely passed us by that we'd hit our anniversary of opening to the public and although we've had a troublesome few weeks wanted to thank everyone for their support and have a mini party in bar tonight with sole outstanding entertainment too 🇯🇲

First off showing the England game in a family friendly environment with kick off at 5pm all are welcome 🦁 🦁 🦁

Then onto the main event with the UK's number one show and tribute to Bob Marley live from the bar around 9pm. So no matter what the result today everyting gonna be arie ✌🏼

The Team just wanted to extend massive thank you for all the well wishes and offers of support. To all customers past and present too alongside local businesses who have helped us when needed today.

We won't be in a position to open tomorrow unfortunately but will be back on Saturday and Sunday so if you could pop in it would be massively appreciated.
