💛 WHAT A DAY. 💛

Today, Venue38 was honoured to host The Jay Quiz, a very special sold-out fundraising event held in memory of Jay and in support of Brain Tumour Research.

From the moment the doors opened, the room was filled with laughter, friendship, generosity and an incredible sense of community as family, friends and supporters came together to celebrate Jay’s life and help continue the fight against brain tumours.

Seeing every table full and witnessing the amazing atmosphere throughout the day was truly moving. The love and support shown for Jay and his family was evident in every corner of the room, and it was a privilege for us to play a small part in such a special event.

A huge thank you goes to Jay’s parents, family and friends for organising an incredible day, and to everyone who attended, donated prizes, bought raffle tickets, took part in the quiz and supported the fundraising efforts.

While today’s event may have come to an end, the fundraising continues.

Brain tumours affect thousands of families every year, and vital research relies heavily on fundraising and public support. If you would like to help continue Jay’s legacy and support this important cause, please consider making a donation using the QR code below.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. 💛

Together, we can help fund the fight against brain tumours.

Well, what can we say? Yesterday marked the rebirth of our Limelight Sessions at Venue38 in our new home — and what a day it was.

From opening band Novera right through to our headliners, Static Sky, we witnessed the future of Ayrshire live music.

Novera, all still at school and having only played a Christmas concert before now, completely smashed the opening of the show. They fair brought a tear to our eyes hearing such incredible new talent.

Next up was The Banned, with mums, dads, grannies and grandpas all in the audience. It’s amazing to see just how much they’ve grown since their first performance in the venue back in February 2025.

KB & The Raskals gave us a haunting performance, and then Mixed Signals showed us their professionalism with a truly rousing set.

Our headliners, Static Sky, brought the show to an incredible close with some serious Psycho Killer vibes.

Huge thanks to all of the bands for showing us that grassroots music — and the venues that support it — are so important to the future of live music in this country and a major thanks to “Sauve Gav” for the witty banter between bands and to Gavin Lauchlan for filling in the gaps - much appreciated to the both of you.
Extra thanks goes to Damien Fleming on Sound helped out by Jamie, James Bunten on Lights and April, Rachel & Kayleigh on the bar and the lovely door staff ☺️.

Ayrshire should be proud to have such amazing homegrown talent right on its doorstep, and a massive thank you to everyone who came along to support these young bands on their musical journeys.

Pics and videos coming throughout the week.

See you at the next one… and here’s to “Living in the Limelight.” 🎶✨

⚡ TOMORROW IS THE DAY ⚡

Tomorrow, Limelight Sessions returns to Venue38 and we honestly can’t wait for this one.

Another brilliant night of live music at Venue38 🎶

Friday night saw local band Earthbound bring a fantastic atmosphere to a private engagement celebration at the venue with a superb live set and some incredible musicianship throughout the night.

One thing we’ll always continue to support is local live music and the talented musicians we have here in Ayrshire. Whether it’s original bands, tribute acts, touring artists or local players performing for special occasions, live music creates something that nothing else can replicate.

The sound, the lighting, the energy in the room and people enjoying live performances together — that’s what venues like ours are all about. ❤️

Congratulations again to the happy couple and a huge thanks to Earthbound for a brilliant night of live music.

⚡ LIMELIGHT SESSIONS SHOWCASE ⚡

Headlining the return of Limelight Sessions are one of Ayrshire’s most exciting rising alternative bands — Static Sky.

Over the last couple of years, Static Sky have been building serious momentum with their huge live sound, electric stage presence and a darker, heavier alternative rock style that’s quickly turning heads across Scotland. (Facebook)

But for us at Venue38, this band represents something even bigger.

Back on 8th June 2023, Static Sky stepped up on a night that could easily have fallen apart. After Black Grape unfortunately didn’t make the show, every ticket was refunded and we opened the doors for free. What followed was one of those nights that reminded everyone exactly why grassroots live music matters.

Static Sky absolutely owned the stage.
The crowd stayed.
The atmosphere was unreal.

It was a moment that showed exactly what Ayrshire talent is capable of when given the opportunity to perform on a proper stage with full production, sound and lighting behind them.

Since then, the band have continued growing their audience, releasing new music and building a reputation as one of the most exciting young live acts coming out of Ayrshire right now. (Facebook)

That’s why it feels only right that they headline the return of Limelight Sessions on Sunday 24th May.

At Venue38, Limelight has always been about supporting the next generation of original Ayrshire music — giving young bands the platform, experience and opportunities they deserve. And remember:

🎟 100% of ticket money goes directly to the bands.

Come along and support Static Sky alongside Mixed Signals, KB & The Rascals, The Banned and Novera as we celebrate the future of live music in Ayrshire.

Support grassroots music.
Support original bands.
Support the future.
