Next Saturday sees the next in our summer collaborations with Railway Kitchen.

Jack will be making his fabulous pizzas again, served up from 5.30pm. Details on what flavour toppings will be available will be anounced nearer the time.

This week we have 3 b**rs new to The Ale Way on cask, though we have had a couple of them on keg before; will the cask versions prove to be better? (We all know the answer to that!😉.)

First up we have a b**r made with hops from one of my favourite European countries, Slovenian Rhapsody, a golden ale from Hop Back. Fantastic name, fantastic flavour, this really has something about it. I must remember to wear my Loo-Blah-Nah brewery t-shirt at some point over the weekend.

Recently appearing on keg, we have the cask version of An Howl, the IPA from Firebrand. You don't often see this in cask so it's well worth grabbing whilst you can. It's a fabulous pint and gets my b**r of the week award.

Finally we have Milk Stout from Bristol B**r Factory. This used to be our go-to stout on keg as it was extremely popular but they stopped making the keg version so I've finally got round to giving the cask a go. And it doesn't disappoint; nice hints of coffee and a lovely creamy mouth feel. Will it do better than Theakston's Barista stout which has been flying out of the keg over the past weekend? Not much left of that one if anyone still hasn't tried it…

Another month has flown past which means it’s time to announce who our August social media winner is.

Two fresh keg b**rs went on tap last night.

Making a very swift return, due to record sales a couple of weeks ago, is Mosaic from Arbor, a delicious pale ale. I suspect this one won't hang around this time either.

And making a return from Quantock is Radicle, their hazy IPA. This is an amazing pint; nice and hoppy and very refreshing. Grab them whilst you can! We are open from 2pm.

We have two new keg b**rs available from today.

A slightly hazy pale ale from Left Handed Giant called Sky Above which is sure to sell out quickly; a really refreshing, zesty b**r.

And our other "final" Theakston b**r for the time being, their Barista Stout, which we've not had at The Ale Way before. As the name implies, this has a slight coffee taste to it and again, is sure to be popular.

After having five cask ales on last week it feels like a return to normality this week!

The last in my run of Theakston ales is Quencher, their very fine pale ale. Full of flavour and very refreshing, it's likely to be the last we see of their b**rs for a good 6 months. (Apart from the stout we have on keg, more details tomorrow).

Two brand new b**rs for The Ale Way complete the line up. From Bristol B**r Factory we have Low Rider, their session IPA. Made with Citra hops, it has a really nice taste and could well be my b**r of the week.

Following the dark bitters and ales from last week we have something a little lighter this week, Portside, a bitter from Teignmouth. It's a while since we've had an ale from Teignmouth and this one solidifies the strong reputation they've built with us so far. A very distinct flavour and pushes the BBF close for b**r of the week but Low Rider just nicks it.

WOW! What a weekend of celebrations. Thank you to everyone who came to the various events we had on over the past few days.

The cake and party food were a big hit. The hog rolls which Jack at Railway Kitchen cooked for the BBQ night were a sell out and a great evening was had by all. Then on Sunday we finished with a full pub for the quiz, where first place was taken by a new team.

The competition to guess the number of unique cask ales we’ve had on over the past two years was won by Julian G (Neo’s friend from Romsey). The correct answer was 198. Well done for winning a bottle of ch*****ne.

We have lots more events planned for the coming months, so keep an eye on our socials for more details.

Following an unprecedented weekend of sales so far, we've had to put on a fifth cask to get us through our birthday weekend! Fortunately I anticipated this might happen so have been preparing the cask for perfection since Thursday.

And the perfect ale? Lightfoot, a blonde ale from my favourite brewery, Theakston. It is very refreshing in the sunshine and will go really well with Jack's hog rolls this evening. We start the BBQ from 5pm

It looks too good to be cut, but when we do later tonight there are 3 tasty different cake fillings inside for you to enjoy 🎂

As mentioned yesterday, we have 2 new keg b**rs available from today.

From Verdant we have a pale ale called Lightbulb and from Polly's a hazy IPA called Rosebud. Both are extremely refreshing and hoppy and are sure to be really popular across our birthday weekend.

After last weeks new keg from Arbor sold out in record time I’m pretty sure these two also won’t be around for long.
