Thanks to everyone who came last night to our fantastic first BBQ of the year with Jack from Railway Kitchen.

It was a really busy evening for us both and we loved seeing so many people there having a brilliant night.

We’ll be doing it again in July and will share the dates soon.

The voting for Best Bar in Devon through Muddy Stilettos has finished.

At the moment we can't see where we finished but the results will be anounced in the middle of June.

Thanks again to everyone who has supported us and voted for us during this little adventure. It's nice to be recognised for what we do.

I’ve been in North Yorkshire this week to visit my mum and whilst I was there I delivered the Theakston barrels back to where the magic happens!

My reward was a "Peculier pint in Paradise"! We'll aim to get some more later in the summer.

We have a couple of new beers to try this week.

The first newbie is another from Teignmouth Brewery's range. The two from Teignmouth we've tried in recent weeks have been exceptional and Tame, a pale ale, is equally as good, if not better. Perfect for hot sunny weather and sure to go down well.

Making a return is Voodoo, Glastonbury's IPA. Due to the name I normally get this in around Halloween but it's perfect for the summer; really light, fresh and tasty.

And what's this, a porter, in this weather, I must be mad! Well, let's see how it sells. It's Firebrand's Molton Moor, a chocolate porter which is actually quite light. I'm not a big porter fan, as you all know, but this is very tasty and well worth a try.

Beer of the week has to go to Tame, but only just.

Making a return on keg this weekend is the very local pale ale from Gilt and Flint in Musbury, which we've not had on for a while.

After all the eating and drinking at the fantastic Gate to Plate today, now is possibly not the best time to make you think more about food and drink! But….. just a reminder that we have our first BBQ of the summer on Friday 29th May starting at 5.30pm.

This is in partnership with The Railway Kitchen and if you came to one of these events last year you’ll remember just how tasty the food was that Jack served.

We look forward to seeing you there to enjoy more sunshine and great food and drink.

The Muddy Stilettos competition to find the best pub in Devon ends on Tuesday.

Thank you to everyone who has voted for us so far. We're asking for one last push as gaining 1% more of the votes will see us into the top 5, which would be a great achievement for our small pub.

Please share with family and friends to vote, if you haven't already, and I know that a lot of you have. Thanks again. 🤞

This weekend we've got great beer, cocktails, cold drinks and total sunshine throughout our opening hours. And our beer garden is the perfect place to enjoy these drinks, see planes, trains and automobiles, meet tourists from all over the world or simply watch the world go by.
We are open from 12 today

I've been waiting a long time to get An Howl on tap and now Firebrand's IPA is finally here! And it was worth the wait!

As it's another Bank Holiday weekend we'll have cocktail specials available from Friday evening again. Hugo and Pimms were popular and so will be making a return but pop down to see which additional cocktail we'll be serving. Something perfect for a sunny weekend....

Lighter beers for the Bank Holiday weekend to hopefully go perfectly with some sunny weather!

Making a return from Sussex is the very popular Evening Star Revival, Downland Brewery's really tasty pale ale. This is bursting with flavour and should go down well again.

Making a first appearance is an IPA from Bristol Beer Factory called Base Camp. It's lovely and may well be my beer of the week.

Or could that accolade go to Glastonbury's Hedge Monkey, a really yummy bitter? This is really close to call as Hedge Monkey is fabulous; full of flavour and easy to drink.

I can't decide, sorry! I'll make a decision on Sunday after I've had a few over the weekend! 🤣

Our loyalty cards are one way in which we say thank you to all of our lovely regular customers. If you don’t already have one please ask us for one next time you are in so you can start collecting stamps for free drinks.

We also really appreciate all of the social media engagement which we receive from people liking or commenting on our posts. So to say thank you we looked back over this years posts and put all our frequent “likers” or “commenters” names into a box and randomly drew one name out who will receive a £20 Ale Way gift voucher. Well done to Elizabeth Green who was the lucky person whose name was randomly chosen. Please pop into the pub and we will give you your voucher.

We will be doing this again soon, so we’d love for people to keep interacting with our social media posts and sharing all the amazing things that make the Ale Way unique. You may be the lucky person who wins next time.
