It’s less than a week to go until The Ale Way’s casino night. As a reminder we will be closing at 6.30pm so the company can set up the tables ready for the event at 7.30pm. Only people with tickets can come into the pub after this time.

We have 4 tickets left for the night. Each £20 ticket includes games on the 2 casino tables run by a professional company and a buffet. Ch*****ne prizes will also be given for the 2 best dressed people.

If you’d like one of the last 4 tickets please get in touch or pop into the pub before Saturday. It should be a fantastic night

Fresh on keg today, another hazy IPA, this one is from Bristol B**r Factory called Outer Banks.

It has a refreshing citrus flavour but with a slight bitterness. Very nice indeed!

I was surprised last week by the rapid sales and love for Hop Back's Green Hopped. It was a fantastic b**r but I wasn't sure how it would go down. This week we have Hop Back's Citra, a golden ale, which again has a distinct flavour and fabulous appearance. Taste-wise I prefer this one to last week's but will that opinion be shared?

Next to it we have Full Flow, a new IPA from Firebrand. This is really nice with a subtle flavour and I think it will be popular.

Lastly we have what I believe to be the best bitter we have ever sold in The Ale Way, the aptly titled Simply The Best from Quantock. If we didn't like to try different b**rs I would have this on every week! Unfair on the other two but this was always going to be my b**r of the week!

A busy time coming up as we head into the cold months. The next quiz is on Sunday, followed next Saturday with our Casino night and a curry night to come in November. And before we know it, it will be Christmas! 😳

Perfect for the beautiful sunny afternoon we're having today, a new hazy pale ale called Floret from Polly's Brewery. Really refreshing with a lovely hoppy taste.

This is sure to sell quickly so try some while you can.

I've been really looking forward to trying this week's cask ales since I began prepping them on Monday. We have two new ones and a returning classic.

Making a return is Downland's Evening Star Revival, a pale ale which a lot of people get excited about whenever we have it on. It is an amazing b**r, packed with flavour and really easy to drink.

Starting a run of Hop Back b**rs is Green Hopped, a fantastic golden ale made with the freshest green hops. It has a really distinct flavour and feels a little different to the tastes which we are used to in The Ale Way. I like it a lot and it will be interesting to hear what people think of it.

Lastly we have Sabbath, a new stout from Tudor. It's black forest gateau flavoured and I have to say it's amazing from aroma to colour to taste. I think everyone should give it a try and I'm calling it out as my b**r of the week, quite possibly the first time I've ever done that with a porter or stout!

Following speedy sales of the Arbor Shangri-La, we have an amazing new hazy IPA available from today.

It's Verdant's "People, Money, Space, Time" and it's an absolute belter! Only 3.4% abv but bursting with flavour. Grab one in this weekend's sunshine whilst you can.

Following a mishap with a barrel of b**r at the start of the week I've had to change my line-up for the second weekend of Cask Ale Week.

But we've still got some amazing b**rs, starting with Firebrand's High Note, an extra pale ale which is new to The Ale Way. It's perfectly clear and has subtle flavours - very enjoyable indeed.

Returning after many months away is one of my all time favourites, 'fraid Not, Exeter Brewery's classic IPA. Still tastes amazing and is sure to be popular.

Lastly, I thought we'd try a bitter from further afield to see how they stack up against the recent run of fantastic local bitters we've enjoyed. From Thornbridge, brewers of the popular Jaipur, we have The Great Outdoors. I have to say it's really good. Has a creamy feel to it and a classic taste; not bad for 3.4% abv. And 20p per pint goes towards supporting children's outdoor education charities, so what's not to love about it?

Really hard to pick my b**r of the week. Think I'll stick with 'fraid Not, but I'm going to enjoy supping all of these across the weekend.

Today we have another new keg b**r for The Ale Way, Shangri-La, an IPA from Arbor.

The b**rs we have recently had from Arbor have been fantastic and really popular. This one is another which is full of flavour and very refreshing. Grab it whilst you can.
